Now am I right boothman, Your joint in the wire is inside the light housing and Stuart’s is outside( is the wire long enough for the cut inside)? Inside would look neater
Yes, as per the photo in my post, I made my cut of the long wire about 2” from the low beam plug connector and the joint is inside the headlight now it’s all put together.
All done but first attempt did not work the full beam after checking my battery was a bit flat so once jump started all worked fine I did use the bullit joiner and the grommets because you can post the male end of the bullit through the hole but like a twat I then put the joiners the other way round But it all works fine I might just try to brighten it a little but that will be another day
Your write up and pictures are very good as well. Jens connectors are what you want tight but they are very tight so hopefully I will not have to replace the bulbs for a long while
Hi, I’ve been looking for a way to have both lights on and just read your post, I’m not the most confident when it comes to electrical work but you have made it look simple enough even for me. I am going to order the same kit and give it a go. I will take it into my work and get one of the electricians to do the soldering, then all I will have to do is plug it in.
I feel a trend coming on . . . Making my OCD worse because now my 2004 and 2011 will be left behind as the odd ones out.
I never get that..... Maybe they think....... Oh it's a woman.... leave it......pointless telling her....she won't know how to put a bulb in anyway
When you contact Jens let him know it’s on the back of my and @bazzashadow purchasing recently from the forum post. Might get some kind of discount if enough people decide to go this way (hint hint @nigelrb, @Lozzy, etc)
@davy19 It is easy and you don’t have to solder the wire together you can use the joiner he sends you. And as boothman has done put it inside the cover
Yep, life is full of risks. Weather's put paid to any serious riding of late. Occupying myself with maintenance and detailing. Bought a tube of Autosol today, keep the pipes shiny! Also bought a tube of Anusol - preventative maintenance for the other pipes!!
I used to use autosol but then started to use maguiars metal cleaner in a tub, I thought it lasted longer
