Having removed the useless junk attached on the bike the final step is to extinguish the warning buld. Apart from removing the feed by taking a knife to the circuit board, was there a less invasive solution ?
The dashboard light is fed by the Orange/Green wire on the loom connector. However, if you’ve removed the Combined ABS Control Unit it should be disconnected anyway? If the ABS control is still connected pull the black 5 pin plug out and the ABS light should not illuminate on the dash
I think its works the other way, the dash is permanently illuminated until the ABS ECU says otherwise ie after the diagnostic checks. No ABS ECU no signal to extinguish the warning light. I haven't (yet) done it myself but I think you need to earth the orange/green wire to the dash
So @mgoode180566 you’ll need to connect the Orange/Green wire that feeds the dash to earth. The earth is the green wire that runs all over the bike
Im afraid i havent, have been rebuilding the forks and getting the drive chain and gearing correct. I will take a look and report back. I did take a quick look and couldnt see the orange and green wire where it entered the front loom, i shall take a closer look.

The orange/green wire terminal from the clocks needs to be earthed yes from what slick said. I would try just disconnecting it first to see if that works as on the none abs version the O/G wire is not present
OK it is all done. I removed the tape from the front loom and found the orange/green wire where it enters the large connector by the radiator. Came back a couple of inches and cut it. Then soldered the clock end to the green ( earth ) wire where it splits to the horn and indicators. Taped the loom back up and reconnected. The light now illuminates for about 3 seconds while the systems initialise and then stays extinguishes. Havent ridden it yet but i can imagine all is now resolved. All of the abs system is now gone and with the light out. Many thanks for the help, hope this helps somebody in future.
Hi my question is since you have experience in the removal. If i leave the plumbing, abs ecu and pumps on the bike and just run new lines from the brake pump to the calipers will this work? Please advise. I prefer to disconnect parts rather than remove them if at some point will px the bike.
Yes of course. The system will work perfectly if you simply replace the front lines with braided lines, same with the rear. The only issue i found was that the pipe work that remains will need to be capped off, i found some fittings that contained a ballbearing to seal the pipes off, either that or simply extract all the fluid from the system. I would advise removing the entire system. I removed all actuators , pumps, pipes and brackets, modified the loom and finally i changed the wiring in the front loom to extinguish the abs warning light. I recall that all of this has saved me 12kgs. I can supply details if you wish to remove the system.
At some point i will but now i just want to do the easy way. Shall i remove the abs fuse or just leave it?
