As the regular members know , Im having some work done on my back and i said id keep the guys posted .

Just been in for my pre administration exam , Im fit and healthy and booked in for surgery on the 24th of Feb .

First operation is to make a bigger cavity for the base of my brain as it has dropped from my spinal scoliosis .

Going in from the back of my neck , Trimming the base of my skull and removing the top vertebrae . Putting a patch over the spinal cord to protect it and closing up .

Sounds worse than it is tbh . The only thing I'm gutted about is having my hair shaved .. Bar stewards !! lol but needs must

Ill update when all is done :)

    Oooohhhhh pucker time.....

Get them to put some Knox armour in while they're at it.

    Might as well.

We've got your back down here mate.

That wasn't meant as a pun. It was just to show that I could if I wanted to.

Good luck Dan I am sure it will all go smoothly and you will be riding around like a maniac after the ops have been done. As for the head shaving, mines been shaved for two years now it just gets a bit chill. Yours will grow backin a matter of weeks, hats are cool ;)

Yeah i will keep you posted mate .

I was a bit worried when i spoke to the surgeon last as he had to go through all the risks of spinal surgery . He made it sound dangerous tbh which i didn't like .

Today thou iv been with the head nurse for the ward and she asked if i was worried about the head op , I said " Not really but I'm a bit worried about the spine op and having rods fitted etc "

She said " Listen Dan , Your having done in Leading spinal clinic in the country with one of the top spinal surgeons in the U.K . We do these surgeries all the time and there is no need to worry " which made me feel a lot better .

One thing they keep saying thou is that the younger you have it done the better .

I was offered surgery when i was 16 , When i stopped growing and they said i could stop wearing my brace . The surgery then involved being bed bound for 6 months .

Today they say i will be up and moving in a couple of days . Amazing how technology has developed in 12 years .

Look on the bright side Matt. At least it'll stop you going round and round in circles when you break into a trot.

How much weight will that shave off then? And sod the knox protector, get em to stuff one o them there new fangled alpinestars air bags in.

Was gonna say good luck mate, but ya wont need it. Speedy recovery is more apt.

You'll be right mate. I've just had a call from the Hospital, i'm going in for my consultation r.e my Inguinal Hernia op. I've had it 6 years, but it's hurting like fek now, so went to the docs last week to make an appointment. I can deal with the pain, but it makes me cock look ever so small....vanity eh??

A shaven head is fook all mate, that will last longer than the op...you can always nick a sheeps fleece to mount on ye scone dude. :D

Take it easy fella, and milk the recovery for all it's worth.

P.S , chicks dig scars. I've got one where me cock used to be........
