Had my heart set on this little Cagiva Mito: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cagiva-m...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2763.l2648 For the past 2 weeks I've emailed and phoned. Guy keeps giving a wrong number - only one number different (a true sign of a scam). Emailed and gave him 2 of my numbers. He just wends a different number. Made an offer of 1300. Declined! It seems to me that if I went the 'Buy it Now' route, there'd be NO BIKE! Have phoned ebay resolution, and unless I've actually done the deal, they won't do anything. I'll just put it down to a blessing in disguise! (AND NO, @PauloHRC , I won't buy yours instead!!)
You working on the basis that you can start buying smaller (so not as heavy) bikes so you can carry them upstairs @nigelrb
I saw this one the other day on eBay......probably the only one out there isn't it??? Might just be one of them sellers who is thick as pig shit and can't communicate properly with people in general......you ever seen Jeremy Kyle? What am I saying, of course you have.....you'll know the kind of toothless simpleton I'm talking about!! P.s. no need to buy my bike.....been offered £5600 To trade it in!!!!!!!!
If you can find another on ebay within the next 10 minutes then you can get 15% off with the code POWPOW15
Thanks Paulo! You sure have a thing for black! Good news about the trade-in price. Sure gives you something to think about. The appeal with the Cagiva was the price and the fact it needed cosmetic work to restore it to original decals etc, i.e. winter project. I have looked at RS125s, most of which are quite pricey but hat's the market. Even the little RS50s are pulling 2 grand! I'll just bide my time. What's that proverb? Good things come to those who wait? (But damn! Like that red and black for 2600 you posted. I'm heading for ebay right now!! →→→→→
Well, I'd kept going with the little Mito, trying to communicate etc. More emails sent and more wrong numbers returned. I know the sort of scam with numbers; just place one wrong digit so if the matter goes legal the seller can say it was simply a typo. Anyway, after my offer of 1300.00 was declined (with no other communication) I upped it to 1400, 'subject to satisfactory viewing'. Have tried to make arrangements to view and still get BT message 'Number is not recognised'. Just this morning I've been invoiced for the 1400. Needless to say that I haven't paid, but did send a massive email to seller documenting all my attempts to purchase and view. Fortunately, if this turns bad, at least ebay will have the chain of communication. I can now see the seller giving me a 'negative' feedback. Most regular members KNOW that I won't react too kindly to THAT!!
I'd knock this one on thee ed if I were you now Nigel. Even if the guy turns out to be a genuine seller.....he's clearly a complete arsehole! Walk away mate!
Good news is as a seller he can not give you negative feedback, loads of scams on ebay, I have learned that if something looks too good to be true it normally is. I was searching bikes over the Christmas period on ebay and hundreds were going on all from Italy and at a fraction of the price. Pete
I tried that with the resolution centre, but there's apparently nothing wrong until a dispute is raised after the sale. I won't let it get that far and as Paulo suggests I have just abandoned the idea. 125s probably no good for a fat bastard anyway.
Nigel get yourself a classic 2 stroke, I have a 1967 Suzuki and the plus side is even if you don't ride it they look good and will never go down in value. Pete
Ah, not sure about that. A Quarter Pounder with Cheese runs pretty close! But even better, is my own Nigel's Nuclear Nutrition: That's what 'm talkin' about!
