That's the one.....I wasn't 100% serious at the time, but when saw it again the other day, reduced and 0% apr I had to make an enquiry, told him I was selling mine privately and he offered me £5600 to trade it in ! I had to go for it :)

Did you include the fairings or will you make a bit on the side selling them separately?

Yeah, agree. They'll probably put 7400 on it but let it go for 7ish.

That will make it a 2019 model. Even better at resale time. Nice bike, but I am a little bias.

Huh? How the heck can it make it a 2019 model? It MIGHT even be a 2017 painted up to clear stocks.

edited to say: Ah, yeah, on the V5.

    Do you know @PauloHRC whether it's an 'H' or a 'J' model?

Here's the thing, when he said handover would be next Saturday, I said I'd need time to put the oem fairings back on and what with work and family commitments I'm not sure I'd get it done in time. He said don't worry about it, the workshop lads would do it for me and then I can collect them and sell them on. So Yeah, set of 09 matte blacks will be up for sale soon.;)

Not sure what he'll sell it on for, but all I know is that I got on a trade in, similar to what I was expecting to get private and with less hassle :)

That's a damn bonus for YOU not having to go through the PIA doing the fairing changeover.

I am sure the matte blacks will sell very quick. You could even through in the Spencer Blue hugger as encouragement:D:D!!

It's a 2018 and getting a 68 plate, picked my reg today, last 3 digits being APX (APEX) took your advice Nigel and checked for the 'J' and it is indeed.

Could have waited till March and got a 19 plate but I'm not too bothered about that. Plus I'm already waiting till March for my VW Tiguan Allspace R line:rolleyes:

If it’s registered on or after 1st jan 2019. It will be classed as a ‘19 model. Regardless of anything to do with when it was actually made or model letter. As a result it will be worth more than if it was registered on or before 31st Dec 2018.

Interesting.......Will still be on a 68 plate though right??

As finance only approved today it's unlikely its been registered yet being the weekend. Do you think I should ask them to hold off registering until after New year's day ??

    And

    Yes

The age of the bike/car is from the date of first registration.

Lovely bike that. Baby, extension, new car and a new bike, can't take it with you ey!? Haha.

The Repsol next to yours caught my eye and got me looking at the used fireblades on Hunts website. There are 5 of them for sale between 2014-2016....all of them have ABS, says a lot doesn't it.

It may well be that Hunts gave you such a good deal to be able to get the bike sold/registered this month hence getting it in their December and for that matter 2018 sales figures.

As for abs issues I was told that these were resolved when Honda binned their own system and went to Bosch on the new shape/model. You can’t get much of a clearer admission from a manufacturer that a design was crap when they go from using what must have been a cheaper in-house piece of kit to buying and fitting German components.

It did cross my mind that they would want end of year sales figures up and to try and shift some 2018 bikes to make way for 2019's which is understandable.

But as the deal was only done yesterday and finance approved, technically only the sale has gone through which is, I would say.....all they're bothered about.

I just don't think they would have time to register it before new year with it being done over the weekend. Not even signed anything yet as the finance agreement won't be signed until I receive the bike next Saturday. I may ring them and see if it Will be registered in the new year but it's no biggee at the end of the day :)

That's good to hear about the abs! I'm a little wet behind the ears as far as Sp's are concerned. I've never really looked into them nor do know much about the rider aids as I never thought I'd have one!
