oh, just remembered, there was a fully grown man there wearing an adidas track suit, pretending to carry a rolled up carpet under each arm
Have a look at a Ventura System, they are great, can easily replace the rack with a grab rail too. Great if you are making longer trips or trips abroad. https://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/products/bikepacksystem.aspx
thats more my style i reckon, im not sure when ill get permission to actually stop away overnight though!
its all very flat - i like that actually, i love going up steep hills, but i dont like going down them lol
Yes, there seems to be a particular art (that I haven't mastered) about going DOWN hills quickly. Puts a lot more stress on the front tyre (for me) and I never seem to turn in tight enough and eventually run precariously close to the edge of the bitumen/white line. You'll learn to overlook half of @Lozzy 's posts, and then believe only half of what's left. I've done 1300 miles on my SP - all made up of 30-mile loops. It's not the distance we go, it's the fun we have doing it - or at least that's what I used to tell one of my former wives. Can't for the life of me remember which one though!
sure thing on that topic, i have now managed to relax enough that my elbows can move independently from the rest of my body! I quite like how when relaxed, my arms rest on my knees and if i can maintain that, everything goes smoothly around corners. I also read on a link someone posted somewhere something that's stuck with me about cornering 'if you roll off the throttle, you are effectively braking all the way around the corner' I'm remembering that today, and its really helping going through the thought process
Blink just ride at the speed you feel comfortable and safe at, if in a group, ride at your pace if you ride slower than the rest of the group don't be tempted to keep up with them If you don't feel confident. Suit looks good matey.
yeah, i decided i wanted an x-spirit III, and when i saw the Bradley Smith colourway in the shop, i thought it looked great and it matched the bike better than i expected!
Yesterday I took off the bar end mirrors and led turn signals. I didn't like looking down to see the mirrors. Then I rode the piss out of the bike for a few hours.
Well managed to get out for about a hour today......went for a pedal 1st thing and thought roads not to bad dry and about 10c so pedalled back as fast as ......quick shower and off out on the sp.....so good to get out and have a spin...bike not even dirty ....very rare to get out this time of year next wk looks done for ....down to -4c some mornings so no doubt salt put down everywhere....happy new year all wishing everyone a fast and safe 2019,,,,
I was going to do the same but ummed and arred for too long over whether the roads would be okay, I just lost the plot by leaving it too late. Could be okay for tomorrow - we get the frosts and zeros from Wednesday morn.
WTF? Never seen those or even heard of them before. I've always used the 'wiggle with the finger' method. Most sure way of identifying any slack - or so I thought. So I hopped onto You Tube to investigate. Here, if anyone's interested:
Yeah, that’s where I first saw it. Seems like it is a USA thing...cheapest I could find was £18.99 delivered But I’m a bit of a sucker for gadgets
