Yeah, I'd heard that. Just noted that Pirelli acquired Metzler in 1986. Some Pirellis are said to be made in Mexico and Russia.
I went with the Dunlop Q3+ mid season last year on my SP Repsol. Did a few track days on them and my normal riding. Excellent tire!
I'm a right metzeler fan boy. Last time I checked they are the only tyre manufacturer to only cater for motorbikes. As said they are a sister to the Pirelli company. M7rr are a brilliant all rounder. Racetec RR k3 are perfect for summer road use and on track up till the point you consider slicks. My bike has a coupke dunlop logos but I just pretend it's an M in the logo not a D
I had the 4’s on my VTR and loved them and lasted very well. Can you let us know how the 5’s do and are these any good for the blade as it is more power than the vtr Thanks
Emailed a couple of the suggested retailers today to query the date stamp on their special offers because I know that sometimes 'old stock' is priced very low to clear out. Neither of them replied. I hate crap customer service. They can all get stuffed. Gonna ride my 2011 without tyres - that'll f*ck 'em!!
You 2 need to get out on your bikes instead of firing emails off left right & centre lol....just get the bloody tyres bought
I had been getting 6k out of the 4’s and could of got more if I hadn’t had squared them off so badly. I’ve had the 5 on the front for nearly a month 1k and find it better than the 4. Tips in nicer and feels so planted that gives so much confidence, maybe too much in the winter months? They look sportier too
@Lozzy Stop worrying about me and nigel You need to get yourself in that calendar and give us all a laugh. @raphael don’t encourage her by agreeing with her
Can't agree with that I'm sorry. I think that anyone who buys tyres WITHOUT ascertaining their date of manufacture and consequent life span is doing themself a disservice. There have been thread on this very forum of members being duped. There's plenty of time to buy tyres, but when I do so, I'll be safe in the knowledge that I have purchased wisely.
Not sure where in the country you are but I use falcon motorcycles in Burton on Trent, they were as cheap as eBay for the last 2 sets of tyres I had fitted to loose wheels.
