Thursday last week, I received a reminder that my driving licence was up for its 10 year renewal/update.

So, rather than wait, I thought I would get on and do it and try the online system.

fairly straight forward and simple, everything including payment went through OK and so I thought it would take at least a couple of weeks for my new licence to arrive in the post.

Blow me down, not less than half an hour ago, new licence drops onto my mat, and to top it all, all my groups and details are correct.

So, one and a half working days and everything is done.

Not usually a fan of DVLA, but for once, I have to say, "Fair play"....

Now I just have to send my old licence back once I have cut it up. :)

DVLA is the only government department I would give credit to.

With my many changes of number plates, I have always had V5s returned within 2 days of doing the online transfer.

It has got so much better doing a cherished transfer since it has changed to the tinter web, gone are the days of queuing up at your local office.

Its cheaper too and you can hold them on a certificate for 10 years.

I agree, also for people like out very own @nigelrb who gets more bikes through his door than a dealership, ( :) ) if you buy a vehicle and have the new keeper green supplement and remove the first digit from thew document reference it then becomes the same number as the document ref on the front of the original logbook, you can then pretend you are the previous owner and do the online docs transfer yourself and just stick in some fictitious mail for them........;although I wouldn't do that.

What is this sh*t? Some dealers would kill for a turnover like mine. And might I let you know that I use more lube on my front door hinges than I do on my chains. If a man is going to have a hobby, let him do it properly!!:cool:

Oh, by the way, cop this: https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums...S-50-(06-plate)-another-almost-complete-RS-50

Now stop distracting me so I can hightail it back to ebay!!:):);)

Congrats @nigelrb The RS50 was my first ever road bike! Loved it. You've got to ring its neck EVERYWHERE but it is quite happy at 60mph. Get yourself a good supply of 2 stroke oil and don't ride it in very cold conditions....my carb used to ice up on the journeys back and too from work.

P.s. Your email address does send undeliverable notifications every time I've emailed you by the way. You always replied though so i just ignored them.

Ah, sorry Charlie. I have a special filter on my personal email add because @Lozzy kept bombarding me with invites to a Spam Fritter dinner. Of course I would have agreed, but I'm still awaiting advice from vintners as to whether red or white wine would complement such delicacy. :D:D;)
