Has anyone used these for 17-18 model? Thought Stomp Grip might do a tailored version but can't find one. These Eazi-Grips look pretty good value and are endorsed by BSB teams.
Stomp grip do it for the 17/18 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stompgri...8-Tank-Pads-Traction-Stomp-Grip-/112428740051
Problem is they are part black part clear, I need all clear so I'm not covering up and of that lovely paint job. That's why I'm thinking the self cut sheets?
On the standard SP paint job, these bits I've circled are just black plastic.....but on mine they are painted beautifully, it's a crime to cover them up so need clear so not to spoil the lines!
Lol they are all clear ...check the full description. They do packs of clear or packs of black. I've had both. The link is for clear ones
They cover the parts up that your knees are going to grip and stop trying to deflect your doof moment
If the second option, you can cover the places you need high-quality armored film. Or will the bike be used frequently on the track?
Use the clear self-cut with a hairdryer to warm the sheet to take the contours better. When I did mine, I first made a template from ordinary paper, then transferred it to cardboard and cut it out. Trace onto the sheet and job's done. Reverse the cardboard and then you have the template for the opposite side.
In answer to both your questions, these are for gripping with your knees but also act to protect the paintwork on the tank areas.
So I've gone with these, as I said @Lozzy the Eazi-Grips cover different parts of the tank, like this.
Already made a template to cover the middle section @nigelrb.......works perfectly when flipped over to do each side. I wasn't going to transfer the paper template into a cardboard one but I think I will now thanks!
So got one side on, gonna do the other side tomorrow night when Mrs PauloHRC is at work and I can get the bike out from the wall and in the middle of the kitchen Quite happy with how it looks, doesn't obscure the paint job too much. Few little bubbles but I'm hopping they'll settle over time. Now i know what im doing the other side should be perfect. Not sure I'm going to do the lower panel just yet....see how it goes!
