He's got a lot to prove after his wasteful stint at Ducati. Rossi could have told him he was wasting his time going there.
Can't say the latter half of the season has been wasteful. He's kept his form, been able to evaluate the opposition, and is now showing them the goods.
I think you have to take your hat off when a rider leaves their comfort zone and moves to a notoriously difficult bike to ride and master, which the Ducati was as that time. 3 race wins and a several podiums is nothing to be sniffed at in two years on a Ducati no matter who you are or what your reputation. There are riders out there who could only dream of that. Chances are he will become the only rider in history ever to win on 3 different manufacturers during the moto gp era, and it's looking good so far!

I would have liked to have seen Marquez extend his contract by only one year, this year and then move on to a new challenge. Be really interesting to see how he would go on a different bike, that really would be a true test of his ability! We all know he's alien like on the Honda but the time has come for him to try a different bike......we will have to wait for that though. If he equals Rossi's 9 world titles it would be amazing for him but Rossi's achievements would still be greater for me as he's done it with multiple manufacturers!
Brad Ray getting a go on the Suzuki moto gp bike today! Will he ever get the chance for real? Let's hope so, we need more Brits in Moto gp.....he needs to go well this year in BSB and maybe take a step nearer!
