First ride out and this.......

Both feet down and thinking ‘oh ffs’?

 

Respect to you - I remember riding all weathers in my teens and early twenties but that was out of necessity. Now I think twice before getting the car out

Nothing like that in Midlands. Cold and frost this morning and a bit of ice. Haven't seen snow yet this winter.

 

I work in London's West end and commute from my home in South Bucks.
Got a message from da wife during a meeting saying there was snow and it was settling, promptly ended the meeting and rode straight home.

Didn't appreciate car drivers up my backside in these conditions, i dont think they understand how much of an extra hazard it is for two wheels.

BTW my sphincter was contracting at the same rate as the hazard lights!

After last year in the same conditions Jon it took me 4 hours to do 20 miles, swore I’d never get caught out again. Job well done getting that home mate

 

West midlands maybe, but over in the East Mids we had a good throwing down at about 5pm ish. When I came out of work I was shocked!

 

I got caught out in that today too - over the top of Hampstead it was really starting to stick. Not fun. And the snow sticks to your visor too so you spend half your time wiping it constantly.

Were you on the Blade? Fortunately I was on the 650 which felt slightly less lethal.

 

Glad you got home safe. Luckily my days of riding in weather like that are well gone, I don't miss my 5am starts to ride from Lincoln to Bristol on a Monday morning.

 

Huh? As in 4 and a half hours Lincoln to Bristol? That's some trek!!

 

Yep on the Blade, it was a toss up of visor down and see nothing or visor up but it felt like someone was throwing darts in my eyes

 

Used to do it in just over 3 hours, needed a fuel top up so had to do a stop. Was "interesting" to e going down the road and see what looked like puddles in the centre reservation only to realise it was snow, and then face minor roads like the one Slick showed in his video.

 

Exactly! I was surprised how much snow turns into daggers as soon as you lift your visor.

 

I had to look it up " sphincter"

 

I used to ride in the snow, but on a DR200 with knobbly tires..that was fun.

Went out and like the film a day after tommorrow an instant freeze decended on our little village.

Lucky to get back rubber side down!

 

Only ever got caught out once in the snow back in 2008. Never again. Still can’t believe I didn’t crash. Well done mate!

 

Yep, been there done that in the early 80s ,open face helmet on my Honda XL 125 . Loved it
