would you use copper slip, thread lock or nothing when refitting the front caliper mounting bolts?

I use copper slip, but I'm not sure it's right

I used to use that on every bolt on my VTR because when I got it every bolt was seized.
but my sub frame did come loose so I put so thread lock on it.
    not sure about the calipers.
I know that some brake disks for cars come with new bolts with tread lock on them

The bolts are supposed to be replaced though every time the topic comes up just about everyone says they don’t (replace them)....I didn’t use anything on mine

    that might be why
they might have thread lock on them like the car kits

Yeah, now you mention it I think there is something like that on the bolts.
Someone more knowledgeable or with the manual to hand can confirm.

I have always had Haynes manuals for cars and bikes but after searching and then contacting them, they have said they don't do a manual for the 2016 blade

Used copper on mine last week when remove/refit calipers for tyre change.

Like @hitch, I am not sure of the definitive procedure on this, although my Honda 2008 - 11 Service Manual does state to replace caliper mounting bolts with new (which I didn't) but no reference at all to any treatment of those bolts.

Yeah, I’ve got a Haynes but it’s not officially for the 15 plate.
Using @nigelrb ’s link here you can see the differences from 2014 through to 2016 are cosmetic or SP model

This is a reason to swap to race bolts with locking wire :)

Reusable bolts, they look bling, they are lighter and with lock wire there is no need for loctite :)

Honda say replace them as they stretch but as long as you torque them to the correct value you shouldn’t have any problems.
Mine are off the bike 4 or 5 times a year and still using the same bolts with no thread lock.

And that's the key. I believe if they are torqued to the correct spec (45Nm) they shouldn't need Loctite.

Mine have been off a million times(ABS issues!)

I prefer to use anti corrosion grease as made by ACF, then torqued correctly.

I read somewhere once copper grease can affect the torque value, don't hold me to that though!
