Not done the Bol, but know lads who have who had a ball!!

The car lemans is insane... Such a great weekend, so if the bikes is half as good, sure it's great!!

But trust me, assen is the best motorsport event I've done - 80,000 people out in a tiny town having it large, they have about 5 squares with what I can only describe as concerts for different tastes including a 20k set up in one which is like a festival... Totally amazing.

sorting a 3 day blat round scotland which involves an overnight stay in a castle. Gonna try a few track days. Generally blatting around all over really. My sister lives in spain and me and a mate are mulling the idea of bobbing down there via france.

Was going to ride down to Spain and get ferry back, but proving expensive and lacking availability so looking at this as an option.

Milestones marked but route not sorted yet

(with apologies for the untimely reply to the OP)...

Nice trip! I've done the RN the last couple of years and it's superb riding country.

I highly recommend the Gorges du Verdon and Moustiers, if you haven't done that already? We did a full-day loop from Moustiers-Gorges du Verdon (southern rim, although northern is faster)-Castellane-Grasse-Cannes-bimble along coastal road to Frejus-back roads to Draguignan (D4/D562)-back roads back up to Moustiers.

Probably the best day's riding I've ever done. Fast, sweeping bends through forests, hills, canyons and coast, with smooth roads, little traffic and glorious weather (although the coastal bimble got a bit toasty!).

You can do a decent loop up though the moors to Goathland then on to Whitby and back round to Stokesley then the fantastic B1257 down to Helmsley. The B1257 is superb going south (not sure about northbound) but it does have a couple of surprises so be careful! Helmsley used to be a big biker spot but the local council have been doing their best to drive us away.

I previously posted this on the Firebladeriders web site, and i still cant see why there aren't 40 of us going on this trip instead of the 8 of us who are.

    Spain 2012

We have done this trip for the last 2 years and its been fantastic.

The location is at L’Estartit on the Med coast in north east Spain, this is where we base ourselves. It’s a small beach town with no nightclubs, but the bars stay open for as long as you want. We don’t go short on entertainment.

From here we go on rides to Port Vendres over past Roses and the hills, down into Tossa De Mar on the infamous “Road of a 1000 bends”, up through Olot and onto Mollo and the French/Spanish border, and anywhere else that takes our fancy. Rides are usually about 80 to 200 miles in length and we generally spend out time like this:

Get everybody up, eat what you can or go for a “brekky”,

leave villa abut 11am and go for ride, stop off for the odd bevvy here and there, then ride back to villa, this can take anything up to 8 hours when we get lost, which we do sometimes.
Get to villa and get sorted, showers, food, beer, drinks on the veranda before going out for a beer or 2.

    Arrive back to villa, then:

Older guys, who left the rest of them at about 1.00 am: beers on the veranda, beddy byes.

Younger guys: finding their way to “out of the way” disco’s and having to get a lift back with the road sweeper wagon, getting so drunk that they fall asleep on a bit of grass in town, getting lost, appearing unconscious on the drive of the villa not knowing where they have been and having to be rescued by one of the “older guys” we mentioned before. Lots of fun and shenanigans.

This goes on for 7 days, get up, ride some cracking roads, get back, go out, get as pissed as you are comfortable with, go to bed, get up ………………

We do this (all lads) trip for about under £350 each. That’s your bike, and you, in Spain, for a week, in a villa with a pool, all diesel paid, all crossings paid, the villa paid, tolls paid, the lot, all you need is two like minded mates and a car with a trailer you can fit 3 bikes on.

We are going from Saturday 2 June to Saturday 9 June so you only have to have 3 days off work.

there are 4 villas, even the smallest 4 bedroom ones sleep 8 people in single beds.

Im not selling owt here or organising a guided tour, but if you want some fun in the sun on yer bike this summer you could do worse that getting on this “Do”. There is a wide spread of ability going on a fairly wide spread of bikes, '92 VFR 750, '95 VFR 750, '98 Blade, '02 900 Hornet, ZRX 1200, a 600 Supersort bike that he hasnt bought yet, so there should be always someone to ride with.

PM me and I’ll give you all the details, villa contact, ferry booking times, etc.

Is it because I'm old that the thought of that concerns me? Blokes getting so pissed they're found unconscious outside the villa, riding the next day at presumably a fast pace, stopping for a bevy or two, riding on unfamiliar roads! No offence mate, but that sounds bloody dangerous.

Each to his own, if people feel like partying and then have to ride slow the next day coz they feel so bad, or miss out altogether, its up to them, this is a bike holiday after all and thats what we should be doing. I'm not going to tell them they cant do it, i'm not their Dad.
The rights and wrongs of what we each do on holiday are not in question here, the header was "What Trips Have You Got Planned For 2012?". This is what we are doing. If anybody else want to join in they can, if this isnt what some people on this forum are looking for in a bike holiday they would have stopped reading half way through the post.

I'm a newbie on here, and as such i will happily remove this topic if you think it dangerous or inciting people to get pissed and ride. Just say the word.

Off to get my pipe and slippers now.
