I'm not quite sure where either of you thought it might be lifting? The mirror like finish of the paint is highly reflective and with it being directly under a light has caused your eyes to be dazzled maybe? An age thing I suspect

Due to the textured nobbly pattern on the grips, where they are cut to shape, the edges catch the light slightly.

My thumbs feel like I've been playing Xbox for a year solid due too pressing out every imperfection possible. The edges have had particular close attention! Due to them being clear it's near impossible to get away with imperfections as say if they were solid black. Same with the tank pad

Still just the light though

 

Try playing xbox for 40 hours a week for 7 years as a job haha my hands are shot! My eyes are fine though, so don't lump me with the old guys who think it's lifting

 

It looks like the right one is a little higher oh dear
