I sold my Arai on eBay. My listing clearly stated, post to UK. After an enquiry from someone from Spain wanting to know about postage cost (yawn). I reiterated on the listing UK only. It sold to a buyer from the Czech Republic. I tried to cancel the transaction but he's declined it. I'm not sure how he can decline to cancellation since he broke the terms of the listing. The buyer has advised to send it DHL and he will pay. A quick check (see what I did there) on the DHL website say it will cost £77, phew. I spoke to a few people at work and they say he sounds quite keen and if he's paying for DHL just send it. But I'm wondering if I'd opened to original listing to Europe, if I'd have got more for it. But maybe I'm just being greedy.
Kevin, to cover your butt, find out from DHL what happens if he refuses to accept upon learning of the 77 freight. You could end up liable for send and return!
Why DHL, wold you not use eBay's Global Shipping service? https://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private/global-shipping-programme
I got caught out a couple of times years ago when I first started with eBay. I didn't know at the time you could not accept buyers from outside the UK! Ended up sending a set of Spyke leathers to Poland!! Like your guy he was very keen, so I sucked it up and agreed to post too him. It's a bit annoying......but it's just the same as posting something to the next town down the road when you think about it. As long as you adjust your invoice for extra postage......or send him a request through PayPal for extra funds to cover postage, I'd just send it! Just hang on to the helmet until you've got all the funds in your paypal
Buyers from outside your area are a pain in the arse. Unless they're me..then you send it anyway and I pay you.
