I attended the last show of the year here in Sweden with my CBR1000RR 2004. I fitted my iceracing-tires to make people really stop and take a look - and it worked
That looks really interesting. What pressure do you run the tyres at? Would pressures vary on different grades (density, temperate, etc) of ice? And, do you buy the tyres like that or do guys manually drill and fit the spikes?
Hi nigelrb: there is actually not a single Company in the World that makes this kind of tires - in any way similar or not. I have to make them myself, to this date i have made 450+ tires and sold to all over the World. the fastest they have gone is 330kph, just over 200mph in the flying kilometer. we dont really ever check the ice for the stuff you mentioned- just check that its thick enought and even so - some ice can be very very bad even When thick. so we drill a lot of holes to release pressure from the water below if needed. I run 3,5kgs pressure in both tires - this to make the studs not "wiggle" about too much-
Thanks Kristian. Very interesting stuff for those of us who have only ever seen glimpses of this fantastic sport on TV.
