hi all, so I’ve had my blade for a year now. All of a sudden I’ve felt the urge to make it my “own” and modify it. So far I have replaced the screen (back to an original one ). I will be wrapping my original screen in a light tint as I don’t believe Honda did one for an RR7? Then I will be machining my own set of race hooks to swap out for the rear pegs, then a hrc rear brake reservoir and finally a custom tail tidy and new can to tidy up the rear. Still looking for any advice of “simple” modifications an untrained monkey can do in his garage/industrial unit for not a lot of dough if anyone has any ideas? Bike is a HRC RR7. Cheers
I've got a dark one on my 2004 and Powerbronze does a light one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-POWE...h=item2cafb3da8f:g:8hgAAMXQdohREwTG:rk:2:pf:0
Thanks Nigel, I prefer the standard shape if I’m honest. Was looking for a puig one last year. Figured for a replacement screen found on here and some tint wrap I will have a go
When you machine your race hooks can you get round to doing those chain guards you said you do for us all??? I've been waiting for ages
Can you believe I’m still waiting for the original to copy Started my own machine shop now. Got some thumb brakes and a 08 top yoke to machine soon hopefully! Shameless plug; JDMprecisionltd on Instagram
I remember your interest in those. I also know that the pressure of waiting for the part made you sell your bike in disgust and buy the SP!
A lot of members at the time wanted a copy of another one, can’t remember the brand now. Also by copying an existing part I meant less work in manufacturing meaning a cheaper price for all. It’s something I can look into if enough interest though for sure
When you machine your race hooks can you get round to doing those chain guards you said you do for us all??? I've been waiting for ages It was a Rizoma chain guard. A two piece construction, can't be difficult if you're doing top yokes??
I’ll have a look. Won’t be that dificult to machine, just guessing the sizes etc. You don’t happen to have a birds eye view of the mounting to swing arm do you?
And that is why you must produce some! I would say if you produced 50 to 100 of these, you would sell every single one. Forget logos, forget anodising, just do them in raw silver. If people want it black let them paint it themselves. I suspect that last time when you said you could do them, people were saying, yeah I'll have one but I want a logo and I want it anodized black, you probably thought ......forget it it's too much hassle and then you disappeared for 12 months ha ha ! Just keep it simple, say this is what they are, this is how much it is......and you'll sell every single one!
As far as I know, you can't get these anymore.....they're like rocking horse shit. Therefore there is a gap in the market, an you've got the kit to do it! Simple business plan
