This morning the news is reporting on a car that went around the train crossing barriers and got hit by not one,, but two commuter trains. Seems the driver was in a hurry, went around the crossing just as an eastbound and westbound train were passing. The car was obliterated and all three occupants (they are reporting "at east three fatalities" because I imagine they were turned to soup upon impact) were killed. The two trains derailed and there was a fire. 1000 people were evacuated from the two trains and alternate transport had to be arranged. The train line is closed today, impacting millions of New Yorker's as they head to wok this morning. My point, as the news interviewed people about the incident (I won't say accident because this was a deliberate act on the part of the driver), some were quoted as saying that the train line needs to do more to prevent these tragedies. Tragedy? This is a clear case of someone who valued getting to their destination faster over their (and their passengers) lives. http://longisland.news12.com/story/...vehicle-on-tracks-in-westbury-at-least-3-dead
Selfish behaviour which resulted in their own demise, but they never think about how their actions may affect others, namely the train drivers and the countless people who have affected by their actions, I’ve seen idiots here on rail crossings doing similar but fortunately getting away with it
This doesn't surprise me! I'm a driving instructor and see selfish and very impatient behaviour almost end in a collision on a near daily basis! Peoples attitude is the issue here.
Impatience. Seen the same here, many of which are featured on 'Dangerous driver' type shows. As stated, it's no accident, and the impact on others affected is incomprehensible.
Far Canal... We see videos of this type of thing over here on the level crossings...not seen anything in this league before though
