Saw this on YouTube and had to ask, is this a safe way to use these paddock stands? I always use mine the other way under the spindle not on the caliper like that.
It is totally safe to use paddock stands like this. But the only time I ever use mine in that way is when I'm taking the from wheel off. Coz if you put them on the spindle, wheel ain't coming off, lol.
Huh? It is. I did exactly that when I recent did my tyre change; Ryde stand directly under the bottom of the forks. The spindle is not affected by the stand. (referring to 2011 RRB)
Mine go with one arm under the spindle and one on the back of the fork, just curious if anyone else used them this way, first time I've seen it this way
So from what I can gather it works but it's not a common use, glad I've not been using them wrong all the time
I have used mine in this way before, though I tend to use it under the spindles. In a way it is actually more secure, ive experienced the cups (or whatever) flip out from under the fork spindles. I've never thought it was a great design. I prefer the ones that lift the head stock.
I have to agree that these are very simple and stable to use. I inherited a Constands one recently, but need to buy pins to suit the Honda. Do you recall, or can you check the pin size for the RR6? It seems to be different from the later models.
I've already got stands was more curious about where he positioned the arms, came up on YouTube and I thought it looked odd
