My old Blade has been deemed a Cat N, its got 70k on the clock with damage to the right fairing, nose and screen. The insurance is selling the bike to me for around £600 is it worth buying even just to sell on? Any advice appreciated!
I would say yes...someone may want to take it off your hands a track bike or similar. £600 is not a lot of money
I would buy it, but then again, I'm a serial bike buyer. You could even spend a few quid on it to form the basis of a track bike and then sell it AND any good 'road-going' parts to offset some of the cost. Who knows, you could even become vic_ster52.
Thanks all, In the scheme of thing its not a huge amount of money so I guess it's a no brainer, I will buy my Blade back, what I do with it after I haven't decided yet.
If they wont up their offer, then try getting them to give you the bike - they’re more likely to do that and it helps you out
But the benefit is that you'll actually have the bike. There's no rush to decide. Whatever decision you do make can only work out profitable for you.
Good news!, a third party salvage company has offered in excess of 2k for my blade plus my insurance payout (which Im disputing) I think I'm happy with that, If I buy it back, all in plus delivery I would need to pay 700, probs need to spend another 500 to get it in a saleable condition. Probably could get more money if i bought back but this way is zero stress and effort!
How much! The third party's first offer was 3k for mine but you can sell a Cat N with bit hanging off for that. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153332619232?ul_noapp=true Cheeky Barstewards! The CB1000F I have now as a hire is wearing thin, need to get back on a RR!
Dan The insurance upped their offer on my written off HRC, total insurance payout best part of 5k for a 10 year 70k basher!!! I paid 6.5K from a main dealer in 2012!! complete NUTS!!
That’s good, and I guess a consequence of new bikes nudging £15k, it will mean used bikes, even 9’year old leggy ones are worth £5k. Anyway, if you’ve got your money i’v got a nice 13 plate for £5950 cough cough.
You've done well there Jon. I think you'd have been pushing it to get £5k for a 70k bike, and to lose only £1500 over all that time thats great. Nice one.
