Thanks Nigel no never put it on ebay in the end and thought i'd wait until after Christmas in the run up to the new bike season. Only pain is insurance is due end of January so will be forking out for that again.
That is a shame. On the couple of bikes I sold quick, the refund we get from most insurers is a total shafting! I think they use they same formula as divorce settlements!! (with apologies to the happily married - I just can't help myself)
Yep it won't be worth getting a refund! As for divorce i've been there twice so know that score all too well
Bumping this, now it's getting to the right time of year it will be going on either ebay or Bike Trader shortly haven't decided which to try first.
Just do both, you may not have much luck on here though, there's probably only 1 person who wants a Repsol, on here, right now. also most people on here aleady have a bike.....a wild assumption I know but I've never had any luck selling on here.
Ah, I must have missed that sale. I do remember it on his bike though. Great to hear your hugger is now attached to the rear of @blink . Sounds like a comfortable union. And I love your presumably unwitting reference to 'pride'.
its looking good now funny you mention pride, im gonna be adding a pride flag to my tail bag it does irritate me that people assume im straight sometimes. hoping for some good weather on Sunday to take it out, got to do the brakes on the QE2 on Saturday
Yeah I knew it would never sell on here, the older lower price bikes seem to sell quick but that's all. I'll probably give ebay a punt first and see if any response and then stick it on Bike Trader.
its always worth a try, but you have to land lucky with a buyer on a forum. Mind you, i have only made one private purchase, never sold anything in my life, bought two bikes, three cars, and still have two of the cars and one of the bikes!
Yeah, I think that's coined it. Like anything for sale, it is often a right place at the right time situation. Only months ago I bought my aprilia RSV1000RF through this forum. The bike was not cheap, but in the upper market value area. I was not looking for one, but the pic and the bike's condition won me. Similarly, I purchased my mint VF1000R through the MV Agusta forum. Again, I was not looking for one, and like the RSV, had not even considered buying one. What I am saying is that quite often a person is not 'specifically' looking for a particular make or model - the bike sells due to circumstances. On that basis, @Sp0oner , I'd give it as much exposure as possible. A little bit off track but closely related is my funniest purchase. Story has been told before on here, but about a year ago a member was looking for an early Blade of 04 -06 vintage. I found a magic 2004 on eBay and posted the link. I kept admiring the pics and shortly after drove to Wales and purchased it!!
Well I put it on ebay for 10 days and according to everyone my bike is only worth £7k It’s put me right off selling it as I certainly won’t be letting anyone have it for £7k ffs.
Thanks, I had been planning on putting it on Biketrader if it didn't sell on ebay but thinking i'll just be wasting £40 on an ad with how ebay went.
