Hey we weren't so bad a few years back In fact if you had a few pints and squinted hard...we'd give you a run for your money these days
I think I read the other day that there was a noticeable difference with a K&N fitted to the MT, so maybe so. Anyway, why are we cluttering ups this superb thread about birds on nice bikes and pics of arses in leather with fecking bike talk! Back to the waffle!
Because that is what it all started about Di’s bike( girls on bikes) And what a laugh it’s been on the way Love you Lozzy and Di
Interesting about the k&n...I know a lot of folks like them but a few years ago I mentioned putting one on mine at service time and my mate who does it mumbled something derogatory about them and told me I'd be getting the oem one and be done with it I'm not mechanically minded enough to know the possible reasons but I'm going to nip down and grill him to find out why... that's if I can get thru the shop door before he spots me and locks it lol... May have to freewheel down so he can't hear me coming
Back to bike stuff... Just arrived for the SP to replace the rusty one So it'll be no tea for Mr Di till that's on
Loz if you look for the youtube vids from Brocks Performance, they just stuck a Sprint filter on a brand new Gixer1000 which had been run in on the dyne for just 10 miles and it made about 3HP difference with just a filter and Amsoil oil on the first oil change with some friction reducer poured in as a little insurance. There are a few vids which quote around 1-3BHP with just a K&N (there are other filters available). Out of interest my local Triumph dealer was giving me some BS regarding fitting a BMC filter on the Street Triple R as they had had issues going back 15 years back when they had issues with a 650 Daytona misbehaving following one being fitted and was going on about the fact the ECU couldn't cope with the extra airflow or some such shit. I ignored it and fitted it anyway and there were no negative aspects noted with the obvious positive being that you can wash and re-oil it come service time.
Fair enough. Pure evidence that the female brain functions on a different level: 'Oh honey, I couldn't clean the carpet today so I bought a new one!' Thanks @Lozzy for this further insight into the confusing species that most of us love and adore.
PPPPHHHHHWWWWOOOOAAAARRRR!!! I can't wait to be flanked off by these two beauties on the next ride out!!!
