hi all Picked up my 2009 blade just noticed one thing when I go heavy on the front brakes there is a whirling noise. I took it back to the garage today and he said they work just fine, which they do. And the noise was just normal from vented disc’s. Anybody had a similar experience???
Never heard such a noise with any of my Blades. Makes me wonder that if it is only under hard braking, could one of the brake lines be rubbing against the tyre, OR, could it simply be tyre noise on the road? Any disc noise would usually be a high-pitched metallic sort of whine as a result of foreign matter (road grit etc) stuck in the pads - but that would rectify itself after a few hard stops. Also, is it ABS or non-ABS?
Check all the disc buttons move freely if not it could be the disc rubbing the pads and when breaking heavy the metal warms up making the rubbing worse
Get the bike on a front paddock stand and make sure the front spins freely it should do at least 1 full turn. At 1000 mls I doubt the disc bobbins are gunked up but here is a video: I've had the noise you are talking about on one of my bikes after changing pads. Sometime certain disc/pad combos seem to cause the noise. I expect it's just new bike paranoia, I suffer from it every time I buy a bike.
I get that mate and it’s worse with the ebc disc/pads I put on compared with stock. Also get it a lot with Michelin tyres as your pushing them into the tarmac. If it’s not changing the way the bike performs I wouldn’t worry about it.
I’ve had this with bikes and cars before, as said already it could be pad disc combination. Even though the bike has only done 1000 miles, it wouldn’t be completely uncommon for a dealer to change the pads especially if it’s 10 yo.
Victor Devine Glasgow, replaced pads when my brother bought his 5 year old blade with 1500 miles on it. Yes I know you don’t often hear of dealers doing these sort of things, but it does happen.

If you have carried out all of the checks already mentioned by others above and found no issues as the bike shop said, it could just be normal noise you hear when a bike is being slowed quickly. You can hear the noise especially when stood at a track day or a race day, it's a noise I love.
Hi thanks all for the info... I have been out today and put nearly 200 miles on the clock i think it just how the breaks are they work great.
