Frig, frig, frig. I trawl ebay and Auto Trader every day and I never saw that VFR. Had I have done so it would be in my lounge room now. Friggin' spewin'!!:mad:

Been a few VF1000R 'E' series (as pictured) cropping up as 'barn finds' on ebay of late. Also commanding good prices, but not quite as high as the revised 'F' series.

I might have to register first dibs on that VFR. I very nearly purchased a VFR 50th Anniversary 3 weeks ago, but pulled out at the last minute because of the famed 'gut feeling'. It was also a high mileage bike.

The rothmans is an original with only 10k on the clocks and slightly more than a new sp2 in value you really should see the rest!

Ah, the 'Evo'. Now I know who you're talking about.

Yeah, I was thinking the VFR is one of the special RC30s and in the 30 - 40K price bracket. There's been a few 'standard ones' on the Bay recently, some with horrid mileages and equally horrid prices. I think their cult status is actually greater than the merits of the bike - notwithstanding that the bike is a handmade forerunner of today's superbikes.

I think i may know who the owner is - as we have crossed paths owning the same bikes a few times.
Would i be correct in thinking he is not in the UK at the moment ?
And also owns a pretty rare bike one of 23 ?

Wow that's a small old world eh.
I am lucky i know. This had 800 miles on it when i bought it, took minor fettling and servicing to get back into commission.
The hardest bit was the carbs. 2 goes to get them right and reduce the flatslide "character"
It made 154 at the wheel before it went over to spain for some sunny action in January and then ended up on the PS stand at the ExCel show. Russell came and checked it out. i have some pics of RS with my bike.

I really like it - far more so than the Yamaha it shared the cover with that's for sure.

I do also have another blade, far less special, but special for other reasons that PB readers would possibly relate to.
