That's a bastard act. I am fortunate that a couple of sellers delisted their bikes just on my word and prior to viewing or paying deposit. I always think we should take a prospective purchaser on their word. Sure, it will backfire sometimes.

I guess your search starts again! You'll get there.;)

I guess from his perspective he could have it sold and gone today and not wait a week for me but i’m gutted as it’s priced very low and looks in top condition and the stator has already been replaced. I messaged him just after he had listed it saying I wanted it and can I have first refusal and just wanted to ask some questions on the bike. I bet he has been flooded with messages for the bike.

Lol how does he expect you to pay and get the bike.

Yeah i'll be waiting a long time for another HRC rr4 at that price/mileage/condition. I'm tempted to give up and go for the rr7 at a nearby Honda dealership with 21k on it. Higher miles than I want and it's plain black but 1 owner from new and they were the supplying dealer and have serviced it from new. I haven't seen it but may phone up tomorrow to check it's still there and if it is go and have a look.

Thanks guys that's a lovely bike and appreciate the heads up. I'd be taking it if I could get that for £4300 but I bet he won't drop but certainly worth trying.

And i've just looked he isn't far from me either :cool:

It's due the 16k service so how much is one of those roughly these days, pretty expensive from what I remember?

Also he has answered my questions and not had any service since beginning of 2018 and chain and sprockets were over 3 years ago with previous owner and MOT due in May so all starting to add up. I'm thinking that's at least £600+ that needs spending and that's if the 16k can be done for £400 which is a stretch I think.

He isn't going to be dropping the price so i'm definitely out.

Why does it need chain and sprockets? Isn’t the big service at 20k? Mot is £30

Big service definitely 16K. And Spoons is correct that it's in the £400 region - especially if plugs and/or air filter is required.

Correct that it shouldn't need chain and sprockets after 3 years - unless the bike's had hell of a hiding, and if that were the case I wouldn't want it anyway.

Have I got it wrong then? I thought the major service with valve clearances was at 16k? Chain and sprockets are over 3 years old so unless he has hardly done many miles or looked after it immaculately it won’t have much life left in it but I did say ‘possibly’ need doing. MOT might only be £30 it’s what it might pick up that’s the issue. I never trust anyone selling a car or bike right before the MOT is due and doesn’t state they will renew it. He isn’t interested in dropping the price at all and it’s out of my price range.

Oh and chain and sprockets weren’t done 3 years ago just they are over that as he has had the bike 3 years and not changed them in that time they could be any age over that 3 years hence the possibly need doing.

    Correct.

Very valid point! I actually make sure that any of mine I sell have a very recent MoT to HELP sell the bike!!:)

Depends on mot if it’s done very few miles since the last one then it wouldn’t bother me.

Spoons if he won’t budge on the price walk away, if I hadn’t picked up the rr4 my next one on the list was the blue/silver one on eBay rr5 9k Miles it looks mint.

Chain and sprockets will do 12/15k miles

Yeah I have done, with the service it's over £5k! It smacks of selling it due to the big bills it's got due and he is shifting it on to someone else to worry about. 16k service and MOT due is not selling the bike.

Yeah i've seen that blue and silver one and the one Nigel has linked to, not enquired about either but Nigel's one has been on my watch list for a bit.

The chain and sprockets had to be done on my 15 plate at 4k!
