I am so rapt. Just scored a super magic one owner 954 with only 6800 miles. My fave colour too, although it might be a bit 'out there' for some. Has carbon can but also the OEM, and an OEM pillion cowl. Will collect by van next Friday. Selling the aprilia RSV to make room. Shame really, but Honda is my first love and this is an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
Damn. I spelt 'whoop whoop' wrong. Thought I'd grab your attention. Must be some stem cell sharing going on here with us both picking up 929s and 954s within a fortnight. Congrats on the white one. A bit slower than yellow, but what the heck!!
Like the 954 and would like one, was it just the spec of the bike/mileage or the colour as the white/blue is a lot more favourable to buyers/Collectors and possibly holds a better premium?
It's the whole shebang, Raph. It's the last of the Tadao Baba Blades. It's said to be one of the best handlers. The 'one owner' and mileage are a winner to me, and, just like my women, I love black and yellow! Not fussed if white carries more value. And unlike my women, this is a keeper for me.
Very nice! I looked at that one at the same time as my Repsol and I went for the RR5 Repsol. Yesterday on the way home I realised after 100 miles it wasn't any more comfy that my 2015 and was wishing id' gone for that 954 lol. I passed on that yellow one just because I thought i'd de-value it by putting a load of miles on it. It's going to look great in your front room Glad you got it and it's on here in 'the family'.
Awesome Nige. We wish we had your pension mate. What were you Director General of British American Tobacco or something. Nah great find mate, enjoy.
Wow! What a stroke of fortune for me! I quizzed the seller about the listing. He'd had it on MCN for a week and had only two calls. That surprised me at first, but its advertised price (£4300) is really in the enthusiasts league rather than an everyday rider, if you get what I mean. Thanks, Des. I have had successes in life and like many of us, have had to fight my way back from divorce cleanouts. The most debilitating was an 84% - 16% asset split in 2002. Worked for my myself with a lot of hard graft to pick up the pieces. This 954 though, is essentially financed by the sale of the aprilia RSV I purchased through this forum last November. It is a great bike, but in 'Nigel terms' it represents the difference between dating Jordan (aka Katie Price) or the late Pete Burns. Just no contest!
Yes completely, it’s what I was thinking in that it’s not a bike that you would want to put many miles on. It’s an amazing buy with 1 owner from new and such low mileage
Possibly in recognition of that the 954 was the last of the FireBlades, after that they became Fireblades.
Back then the only electrical problem was losing your Key and the only way they would break down was running out of fuel or a flat tyre.
You wish. 929's and 954's suffered failed generators and Reg/Recs. That said, they were great bikes, the last of the usable under seat useful storage models!
Well, it is to my eyes, but I guess that doesn't mean much. It's coming off, anway. It's an ancient black rubber one. I did a deal with an eBay seller for two clear Puiges; one for the NS and one for the 954.
Mixed feeling now Just sold the aprilia RSV, but happy that it instantly pays for the 954. Spewing I wasted £40 on the MCN site, but thought I'd give it a go. Always bought and sold well from eBay.
Congrats on the new bike, She is a timeless stunner. Well done on such a good find. Look forward to see a group photo of your bikes.
