Hi All, anyone recommend any couriers/parcel delivery services for posting tyres?

Need to get pricing for shipping front and rear tyres within UK.

    Any packaging advice as well?

All the ones I've had delivered just had a sticker on them or that clear cling film type stuff on it.

Mine have turned up taped together with a label. Nothing fancy needed.

I've posted car tyres through Hermes before, wrapped in shrink wrap and the Hermes printed label stuck to it. Drop it off at your local collection point.......usually a local shop and job done.

Price varies but it will be less than a tenner easy!

I used to post Audi/VW tyres quite a lot a found it easy enough but i did wrap them in bin liners and parcel tape. Cheers @nigelrb for the heads up on Openeo, waiting on my new rear tyre thanks to a ruddy big wood screw:( went with the 55 profile instead of the 50, see if it’s an improvement?

    If anyone's interested I used Hermes (myhermes.co.uk) - cost £10.

That's brave, surprised they ever arrived! I've had horrendous experiences with Hermes personally. Set of carbs for my CBR600 looked like they'd fallen off the back of the lorry, once they finally arrived. The courier apparently couldn't be bothered to ring the buzzer at the door to the office (even with a manned reception right there), so kept marking it as "no one in".

I second that as well. I reluctantly had to use Hermes as the only other courier who said they'd carry tyres was UPS and they were about £15.

I've also had a very bad experience with Hermes when I posted a £100 camera to someone and it went "missing" only to be told by Hermes that cameras are carried at the senders risk - so NO compensation!

So any toe rag at the depot can read the label on the front of the parcel and if it says anything on the "sender risk" list they can have it away!!

Read the T&Cs from My Herpes before you send anything. I do use them on occasion but you need to know where you stand with them.

If you strapped the tyres together you had no come back if they got damaged.

I had an email from Hermes today telling me that a 5kg parcel I sent last week was 250g overweight. They've sent me an invoice for the next weight limit plus admin, so I checked the tracking and it's been delivered.
Needless to say, that invoice will not get paid!!!

I wouldn't pay either. Might be black listed, but if it came to the crunch, I would argue that it was due to an increased humidity content of last week!

You mean because they left it outside in the rain for a few days? “At the delivery depot” ....
