    Nah, you've got it wrong, Boothy. I did find mint wives, despite one having had a previous owner. (The service history was good;))

    There are many parallels between spouses and motorcycles. Putting aside the expected tacky innuendos that both can be ridden, both can be found as one-offs hidden away, or mixing it with the masses just waiting to be plucked.

    Again, with both, we take them, nurture them, tip pots of emotion and money into them, and are generally rewarded with joy and pleasure.

    All going well so far:cool::).

    However, when the seasons turn, both can be affected by ice cold temperaments and temperatures. We try to insulate them from these vicious influences, but some will be susceptible to degridation, corrosion, and plain old lack of functionality.:(

    So, you can see from the aforementioned that I have learnt much from matrimonial life experiences. It did take a while, BUT I have now nailed it. I might be lacking a wife upon whom to bestow my charm and attention, but you have seen first-hand that my bikes want for nothing, and even those that might get choofed off to a new home leave me with no court settlements, alimony, nor antagonistic comments on social media.

    That's what 'm talkin' about!!:D:D

    Yeah, true. I stayed with the black paint on that one. Problem is there's not a lot of choice available for 929/954s so I'm going to suss this R & G and then go from there. The 929 hangar didn't come up too bad, but in my enthusiasm I didn't let the filler dry enough before painting, so there's a tiny depression at the base. Obviously I haven't done a close up for you guys!!:rolleyes: 190426 1.jpg :D:D

    Of course another option is to pop into your local engineering firm and discuss a bespoke item...perhaps.

    I know I did say I'd do it. Been running around with MoTs and small mods to the new bikes. And you really have no idea how much trouble it is moving furniture etc to pull the elusive bikes from the lounge room. This one in particular (below) takes 20 mins to get out after moving chair, table, rugs etc. And now we're forecast for rain this weekend:(

    Ah no i’m only joking because it’s so much work! I think we are all envious of all the bikes and want to see them all together but know that’s not an easy thing to do!

    Yeah, it's strange how the tables turn. I was really committed a couple of weeks ago to get a '96 900 in black and yellow. I did look at one (covered in a post somewhere) and it looked and smelt like Jordan after spending two weeks in the jungle in 2004.

    Ironically, I sent the link for the 954 to @gary1966 thinking HE might be interested. Now I am so bleedin' rapt that he was looking at other things.:) I see he scored a white one.;)

    No argument from me. And those literarians who understand the significance of '42' will agree with me that today I found the true meaning of wholesome food for life!:D

    Wow. Tag me on your next trip. I'll come for coffee.

    Lady @Lozzy could ride down on her new machine too - if you wouldn't object;). Big risk of her being followed:D by a crumbling old BSA though!!
