I have a Yoshi RS5 and so the cables may well have been removed but I want to check. Where is the exhaust flapper on an RR5? Where is the servo the cables attach to? Is it all connected to the link pipe originally and so will have gone when changed to the Yoshi? @phil m very kindly sent me a pdf of a 2007 fitting instructions for an aftermarket pipe but having read them and looked at my bike the servo is not in the same place! I just want to see if it has all been removed as my Yoshi is very quiet almost like stock but becomes loud once riding so very much like the flapper is still in place - or Yoshi RS5s are quiet and i'm expecting too much?

I've also seen there is an air intake flapper mod that can be done. Does this allow the exhaust to be nosier on idle/start up etc? I've found the pipe you remove but left it in place for now as if it doesn't increase sound i'm not bothered in doing it.
That photo is indeed the exhaust flapper valve in the link pipe. It's roughly between the pillion pegs and the cable goes to the servo somewhere around the battery box. The intake flapper is above the radiator. Removing this would only really change the intake noise under load.
Thanks yeah found the servo the cables connect to its on the left side of the bike. And yes found a detailed webpage on the intake flapper mod and will leave in place as it’s not going to benefit me. Looks like if I want a louder exhaust the Yoshi will have to be sold and replaced with something else.
I loved my Arrow GP2 on my previous blade and that's the volume i'm used to. The Arrow models for the RR5 seems quite limited though due to the age of the bike, I have found a supplier where I can get one for £380 but don't know how the older Arrow models compare to how loud the current ones are.
Thanks just looked on their site and they have them all there but they are expensive! The place i've found them cheaper is Sportsbikeshop but never used them for anything before so no idea if they are any good.

It uses the original link pipe so I need to find some instructions on how to fit the original back on and check my box of parts to make sure I have all the fixings for putting it back on.

I've got a Yoshi RS5 end can with the removable baffle removed and an ES eliminator to remove the servo cables. I have an RR7. The can is very loud so don't know why yours is quiet, something is up, the baffle removes with an allen key in 30 seconds.
There is no baffle in mine. I’ve read on the cbr600rr forums others saying theirs are really quiet and others loud. If I read it correctly there are 2 versions 1 is road legal and 1 is not hence the difference in sound. How true this is I don’t know.
