    hey all,
Just purchased a tomtom 500 series sat nav. Was wondering if anyone knows where the mount can be located? It's just that with the steering damper where it is doesn't look easy to mount.
    Thanks

On my 07 I got Telferizer to make me a RAM mount that replaced one of the bolts in the steering damper.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'm gonna remove one of the bolts and get the measurements then give them a call.

Thanks, I just rang Bob at Telferizer on 0161 476 5701 and he was very helpful and I've got one coming £35.00 incl p&p.
Amazing service recommend to all FIREBLADE owners.

Do they do bolts that would fit a phone mount? I got a really cheap deal on a mid range phone which I want to use for satnav if I can mount it on the bike securely.

    Hi,
I’m not sure but it would be worth giving them a call or you could send it off for them to match.
    Regards

Bob’s RAM mount fits into the centre of the steering head and it allows you to use the many RAM mounts. I personally think they are over priced for a plastic ball and an expanding rubber bolt. But I couldn’t make one so I need to stop moaning.
Bare in mind you might need the RAM clamp. Bob might have included that because is does know his stuff on this subject.

I called him and very helpful! I am just trying to decide on which phone mount to go with, either the ram mount x-grip or the quad lock system as both work with the double socket arm.

I dont think I could trust the X Grip, it doesnt fill me with confidence, whereas the quad lock is so sturdy, 100% solid during prison time speeds on the way up to Edinburgh. Well worth the money I think.

We all have our urges..and the A1 all the way from Newark to Edinburgh gets boring. I was basically a rapid courier for work (they needed some discs as soon as possible)

The problem I have with the quad lock is I am using a Xiaomi phone so there isn't a specific quad lock case for it and the generic mount just sticks to the back of the phone so could be more of a worry than the x-grip.

Ahhhh ok! Yeah that makes sense! My friend has one of the universal ones and has stuck it onto a case, with added glue to be extra sure, then you are not restricted by having the Quad lock on at all times

Yeah it's the glue that's making me wonder which to go for as the x-grip has great reviews. I've found basically a copy on Amazon with great reviews for a lot less money that the official x-grip saying it is just as good.

When he hit 140 it flew off supposedly for the second time. I know it's a naked, but just the chance I think would put me off.

Thanks that's not good! I'll start looking at quad lock again!

After a bit of searching around, if you go the X Mount route, I would get one of these just as a backup https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-UN7TU
Rubber over each corner of the phone and around the back of the x mount keeps it securely in place.
