Advice Please - Handlebar Grips

One thing that annoys me with riding multiple bikes is that the hand grips are mostly different.

I want to standardise a few bikes with the same grips. I prefer the thicker type because I like to wrap my hand around a thick slightly spongy bar (please stay away from that @Lozzy ) that might absorb some vibration also.

Solely for road riding (no track). Any recommendations please? (Heated grips not necessary either)

Is there a bike you have that you like the grips on?

 

Perhaps the most comfortable are the Oxford's. But they're heated ones. I have checked Sportsbikeshop and they have an Oxford Supergrip on special, which is attractive if buying say, 4 pairs.

We could do 'stand up' together, but then I imagine you more horizontal than vertical!!

 

Had Oxford heated grips on both my bikes, prefer them to the skinnier ones that were on before. The local bike shop was appalled when I said I'd be using it on track and I was putting on fatter heated ones. But absolutely no probs in any use case as far as I'm concerned!

I have a set of these on one of my bikes, they are really good. Use them mainly for their vibration dampening properties.

Perfect. Just ordered two sets. (for starters)

 

Ordered, paid for, and received withing 24 hours. Damn amazing. Now to decide which two bikes to put them on first.

I won't even put my helmet out in the rain, and you ask of me to torture my SP2?

Well, I'll tell you where my grips can go, AND the 2 metre length of plumbing rubber, and it's not in the void of your lipstick-ridden mouth.

In all seriousness though, the texture of the 'Puppies' is rather soft, and I suspect they might not wear well, especially on the left where so much abrasion is caused by clutch operation. Perhaps @CharlieR85 might provide his experience?

 

I always put Renthal grips on mine. Quite soft. Quite tacky. I like them.

I was not at all keen on the Grip Puppies myself.

 

Had the puppies on for 8500miles on my BMW, no issues with them holding water (even when washing the bike). No issues with abrasion either, they still look as good as the day I put them on.

That's inspiring, because I won't achieve 8,500 miles on some of my bikes in my remaining lifetime. Sounds like a wise investment.
