Aye that's why I liked them. First thing I used to do on any bike was cut the old grips off and put renthals on. Well not any bike. Any bike I owned. I wouldn't just like wander round cutting other people's grips off. Think I might be in 'stating the obvious' territory here, mind.

Thanks Kevin. I wouldn't go that route. They're far too ostentatious for me. Will try to get a ride in this morning with my Grip Puppies. Weather's still very iffy here You were right. The rubber IS a less dense (softer formulation) and its cross-section is too thick for a comfortable grip. As I have no exterior exposed water pipe, I now have 1.9 metres of redundant rubber tube. Was worth the experiment though - a man has to follow his entrepreneurial skills.
So much clutch operation??? Surely that can only be twice in the distance you ride? Once to put in gear and once to take it out of gear
First reaction on the Grip Puppies? A bit too thick. Perhaps great for touring bike, but for me (and I don't have massive builder's hands) I don't feel as if I have a nice firm grip of the bike. Glad I didn't jump in and buy 5 sets!! The size of the Oxford heated grips is about perfect. @BoroRich , are the Renthal's much thicker than the OEMs do you recall?
i had some grip puppies on my old R6, purely for trying to ease the vibration through the bars, didnt really get on with them as i didnt like the increased outer diameter

What about changing the bar end weights to some aftermarket heavier items? I looked on Evotech w/s but they don't have any for the 'blade but someone on here might have changed theirs to something other than R&G.
Cheers @hitch . it's more for size than vibration. I think it's more a consistency between bikes thing. Because the Oxfords are just right, the others feel super thin in comparison. I could just grin and bear it, but I prefer the ability to jump from one bike to another with everything nearly the same. Thanks also @sps170373 . The idea has merit, but might look a bit amateurish on a motorcycle. I'm going to look at some Renthals.
Exactly what I thought, didn't feel I had as much control. They went over the grips on my K1300s, which has thinner than average grips, I do have fairly large hands, and I still found them far too thick.
i put them on on my XTR to dampen the vibration a bit & it does help. But it adds to the lever to handlebar distance; if you have adjustable levers, you'll be ok. You can't go wrong with them (unless you tear them or drop your bike when putting them on.
Yep, I mentioned the lever distance in an earlier post. I'm still recovering from some wise guy saying that I only use my clutch twice per ride. I must concede that they were better on the MV than on my 929, probably because of the MV's slightly smaller diameter bar. I think this is such a personal choice item that we need to, dare I say it, have a test feel, before buying.
