Just hit this number today and thinking is there anything parts wise I I should be keeping an eye on from now on?
It’s been bullet proof apart from the cct’s failing every 5 minutes.

First, that's a major achievement, Raph. Speaks volumes for both bike and owner.

My concern would be head stem and swing arm bearings, although I'm sure you'd be competent enough to notice the slightest free-play in either of those areas. Whilst we all say that preventative maintenance is good insurance, 40,000 miles in bike terms seems a lot, but if we looked at a car for sale with 40,000 miles we'd consider it 'low miles'. Go figure. (not taking into account higher revs and stresses)

I reckon just soldier on, or grab one of the many 2018 - 19 SPs going for a song!:);)

I have a 20,000 miler with no probs. It might be like ABS; some are afflicted with probs and others not.

Of course you'll remember the VTR - same situation. You'll recall some on the forum accumulated massive miles with no probs.;)

As Nigel has put mate, it’s 2012 mate, I bought it at 3 years old with 300 miles on it.
Due to illness and a nasty injury/ it’s been off the road for just over 6-8 months in that time.

Was thinking there must be some parts that normally go in/around that time? If so could think about changing a few bits before they go as got a few trips planned this year mate
