The S21 fitted yesterday on the front is so confidence inspiring its mad. Front end feels so much more planted and tips in so nicely!

So been on the BMW m sport today ....they wouldn't put it in dynamic mode for me I had to do it myself salesman said most people find Road fine but I had no intention of given it a tickle so pros are gearbox very slick although couldn't find N a couple of time at lights....light carbon wheels nice you can feel the difference...riding position you sit in it a little bit more and reach to bars good....wind protectection same as sp......cons...build quality very poor plastics already wobbling off....swingarm finish looks like off a cheap 125cc.....engine does spin up quick but not like some reviews rave on and right from start up 830am about 21c the fan was always on the thing was cooking itself....sp fan only came on when I pulled back on my drive.....if you buy one not avail until Jan/ Feb I reckon there's a fault ....dash looked like from the 1 series need a degree with all the settings ....was pleased to get back on my back and feel the ohlins .,,,brembos ....supercorsa much better tyre than the French things the BMW comes on.....

that reminds me wozza, when i was at lights and stuff today, it felt like i was sat on a bonfire, legs were being roasted, it stayed under 106 though but it doesnt half produce some interesting smells when it gets hot, maybe the stuff i wash it with

maybe its just me, but i love it when its baking hot like it was today

Nice to read real life proper reviews like that @Wozza instead of product led magazine articles.

    Yes, very true.

And that's not the first we've heard about the plastics.

I've said this before, but it's so upsetting to hear some of these things when most of us grew up seeing BMW in both cars and bikes a leader of the field of quality. A swingarm is an immediately recognisable feature of a bike, and as such should be a quality piece of construction. Similarly the gauges/instrument panel. This 'down to earth' view really taints my appreciation of the mark.

Good point about the wheels, @Wozza . That's one thing I notice with the SP2 versus the other Blades. Perhaps you could consider 'doing a Di' and putting some Marchesinis (or carbon) on your SP? You'd never lose on them when sold before you next trade up.:)

Build quality will always be subjective as with tyre choice, bike character also subjective.
Good job you bought your Honda as you also didn’t like any of the competition when looking for the sp either.
Sounds like you have a liking for the slowest, least powerful, worst electronic packaged abs bike on the market that you can’t change anything on because it throws a complete paddy!!

Again thinking wrong! A 20+k bike isn’t special anymore like it used to be. Also proven that is not a special bike with all the problems being published.Unlike you who would wrap such bike up in cotton wool thinking it’s special I would ride it like a 10k bike

Not wrong at all on this one, my friend Raph.;)

I am on record on this very forum stating that the SP2 is not special. I have stated further that 'it is an overpriced paint job and set of wheels.'

Mine is not wrapped in cotton wool. It presently sits on 1900 miles which might be low for a 12-month bike, but still significantly more than some might manage with one or two bikes. It comes off SORN in the morning so the mileage will increase over the next few weeks.

'All the problems being published', you might concede, relate to those who take the bike beyond standard specs. I have suffered no problems at all, and still rate this an incredible and 'special' bike as opposed to some others that are available. I do agree though, that its access to the track performance requirements (ECU access) is another, and a separate matter that should not be suffered by owners who purchase a 'race-ready' bike. As stated, I did not buy it for that purpose.

Took a weekend trip down to Hayling Island in the sunny south to see some old pals. Fabulous weather, though I was absolutely roasted by the time I arrived.
First time using the Kriega US20 as well. Fits a surprising amount but it does wobble around quite a bit if you don’t have it stuffed full.
