Exactly what I was going to say
Advanced search, completed and sold listings should give you a better price comparison.
My VTR was very clean and had a lot of work done, sold for a grand but if you look there are some people asking for two and a half
    Dreamers or dealers

    Yeah, agree.

Reminds me of an ad' I saw on Russian Brides dot com: 'I'd be surprised if you found Botox beneath my cheeks.'

I didn't respond because it sort of suggested that Botox HAD been used - in the same manner that rust had been on the bike but since covered up.;)

Looks loads better in OEM trim. I still think you are being a bit ambitious with your price tbh and I would add a best offer option. Buyers like to think they have got a bargain, I always advertise slightly over what I actually want expecting a best offer less. Buyer thinks they have a bargain and I got what I wanted.

When selling a bike you advertise it for the price you feel it's worth, then you keep advertising until sold or slowly drop the price until it sells, all depends on how fast you want to sell it? moaning about if not selling has no bearing on selling it, If someone wants for a price they will pay it will sell, if not you are asking to much, simples

Ah i priced it with intent of being knocked down to £5000-£5250 ..

If i priced it at what i wanted then surely people will look at it thinking that they could get a couple hundred off ?
    Which would the be £4800-£5000..

I havent really sold vehicles privately , hence why ive started this thread for help :)

Im not moaning about it not selling , as im in no rush, just wondering what i can do better to gain more interest

I'll say it again, you need to put a best offer price on your listing. How can people knock you down if you don't have a best offer price?

If you get an offer between £4.5k and £5k I would take it, it is only going to get harder as the weeks go by to sell as summer time gets shorter.

I think the main issue is that unfortunately I think you paid the top end value when you bought it, it is after all an 11 year old blade.

    Yep, agree.

And that is precisely the issue I'll face early next year when I offer my 2011 for sale. I'm prepared for a hit, and certainly agree about 'gradually' dropping the price, but not too often lest it appear we're a desperate seller.

If you can, change the title to be a bit more standard(?) too. Instead of 'cbr1000rr'

Put something like '2008 Honda CBR1000RR'

That would make me click it more, all about clicks :)

    Hi,
Thanks a bunch. I’ve been lurking around for a while and never really got actively involved
