I messed about with the exhaust servo a while back and then tried to get rid of red flashing light by a diy fix I found on the internet but it didn't work So I just left it, now two years later I want to get rid of the flashing red light and believe I need to connect an Exhaust Servo Eliminator (which I can buy from ebay) to the connection underneath the seat is this correct? Thanks
That is what you have to do, or put your servo back in (it doesn't have to be attached to the exhaust to stop the flashing light).
This is a 929 we're talking about. It is first important to ensure (with respect) that the number of flashes definitely correlates to the specific problem The 929 does not have an exhaust servo like the later models, but does operate on a Pulse Secondary Air Injection system to regulate emission controls.
I have been told that if you leave an unconnected servo in situ, the plastic gears withing the servo can strip. Admittedly a Honda dealer told me this, but is it true? (2018SP1)
Mine has been disconnected for about 4 years with no probs, I cannot see why it would strip the gears if not connected
With no load on the cogs in the servo, they are much less likely to strip.. so yeah, I think they are talking pish
