The other day as I'm on my way home from an hour long ride, I turn my signal on and both signals started flashing on my dash almost like hazards on a car. Also my rear signals stopped working .. electrical work is not my specialty and the maintenance manual doesnt help because it only covers the stock turn signals which aren't integrated.. any suggestions?. I'm assuming from the research I've been doing that its possibly a short or a loose wire.

It's virtually impossible to diagnose this for you, other than to say it sounds like an electrical fault ;)
Sadly you're going to have to trace the wiring around the tail light looking for problems :(

Here is my handy-dandy standard operating procedure for electrical issues (edited to address integrated tail light issues)

    1) Remove malfunctioning integrated tail light
    2) Replace with new integrated tail light
    3) Test
    4) If working as it should, ride on and be happy
    5) If the malfunction persists, sell the bike...electrical work sucks.

The bike is 12 years old and I'm expecting shit like this to happen and plan on getting a brand new integrated taillight kit, just trying to get through the season.. thankyou though

If it was a short then it would normally blow a fuse. If you have changed something recently you may have trapped a wire and broke it, or alternatively you may have a dodgy earth. Dodgy earths can be a right pain to find so hopefully not that.

My main suspect would be the integrated tail light. Diconnect it and check that the front indicators work fine and the dash shows the correct lights. If they do you could try opening the light unit up but it is probably a sealed unit with the main work done by an IC.

Only other thing I can think of is that there are load resistors for the tail light that have broken. If the have you could try and remove them, then if the indicators work but flash too quickly then just fit an LED compatible relay.

This rectanglere box is where the problem is coming from, not sure what it is but 99 percent sure this is the culprit

Should be easy to eliminate...google LED Load Resistor and try fitting a new one in it's place.

Looking at the insulting (deliberate spelling) tape on the resistor someone has had it apart before. Unplug it and see what happens, won't cause any damage to the system by not having it connected, you will just get a faster flashing rate.

I would say the writing is just for the heat shrink covering. If you cut round the heat shrink then slide apart there will probably be the resistor ratings on the resistors, I should be able to identify this and direct you to one on ebay for about £2

Hi, I went for a ride today and thought a bit deeper. My thoughts are as follows
1,normally both circuits should be separate.
2, If a resistor has gone it would only affect one side, and it would only make one side flash quicker
3, resistors do get hot so may have melted the wiring causing a short next to them.
4 I dont suppose it has an after market alarm, these tend to like to flash the lights so can cause issues
5 do both sides not work
6 has any work been done on the bike
as said, online diagnosis is quite difficult, but not impossible

you could be right, so that means fully unplug the rear light and you should have both front indicators working as they should but flashing at a fast rate

    Greetings to all!
Tell me where I can find such a small taillights, but only in the dark smoke color? I can not find anywhere.
