Ok I know this has been asked way too many times but nobody ever gives an update as to what the fix was. So.... I've recently bought a 929 for pennies knowing that it had a starting issue. problem is that there is no spark, all connections, earths, sensors, battery etc check out fine. Could it be a problem with the hiss or ECU? If so what are the symptoms.
Hi and welcome. I have a procedure for dealing with electrical issues: 1) Remove the battery cables. 2) Wait 10 minutes. 3) Reattach the cables. 4) Start the bike. 5) If it starts, job done! 6) If it does not start, sell the bike. Electrical problems suck. Yeah, I am of no help here...just providing comic relief.
I think you've come to the wrong place, this thread will go off the rails quicker than the train in Speed
I'm a member of another forum which has a thread on a similar problem with a 954. The fix related to the 'Ignition Pulse Generator'. This link might help: https://www.fireblades.org/forums/honda-fireblade/132040-954-project-no-spark-fixed.html
Interesting rating. I (no longer) have problems receiving a 'dislike'. Forums, by their very nature are a collective of various personalities and various experiences both with motorcycles and a plethora of other fields. The original question, posted without even an introduction, sought a resolution to a rather vague symptom of a 929. Members here, including myself, offered their welcomes. My first post conceded that I am no hope with electricals; a fact I have previously posted on here. On thinking further though, I remembered a thread from another forum which I believed, and hoped, would be of assistance. I feel it a shame that a new member cannot accept that a slice of humour is part and parcel of forum camaraderie. Heck, some threads are full of it! However, in the interest of maintaining that camaraderie, I offer my apologies to @Ryan1763 for what seems to be my unbecoming conduct.
Yes...but at least you've put the full stops where they should be in your status update...thank god lol
@Ryan1763. Welcome to the forum! Have you got the workshop manual for your bike? I haven't got the same bike, but for mine there's an excellent troubleshooting section in it. I take it the engine cranks over but won't fire? If it cranks, then your stand switch is OK. Have you got a MIL on your model? If so you can get flash codes which will help narrow it down.
