Yep, top job, Raph. Although I favour gold wheels, the black with white rim tape look more discrete and less 'out there' as my blingy self requires.
The flat black bikes look amazing as the frame and the panels blend in to accentuate the streamlined contours creating an animalistic look (or was that Razzle, not so sure). Doesn't quite work for me when there are flat & gloss colours competing on a bike. Each to their own etc
To be honest Nigel gold wheels were in the original idea but after the full ti system suspension work power Commander custom maps and a Shen load of titanium bolts I got in trouble with the police so sold it
I'm not sure I'd be drawn to a black bike in the showroom, I don't think I'd buy one new if there were other colour options available. That's not to say they don't look good though, because they do...... I just prefer a splash of colour!
Had a black Blackbird, done 100 miles on it before a taxi drove across my path and I had to bail off. Almost bought a black blade until I started noticing quite a few scratches that obviously wouldn’t polish out, opted for the HRC instead.
Got to agree with @Lozzy here, because if the end result is 50/50 or even 40/60 black will have won where as if you break it down to the usual hrc, red, white, black and repslow you’ll have a fairer understanding of what is the popular colour
Perhaps Nige worked for Westminster Lies Lies and Damned Statistics Dept....and it's hard to break the habit
I like the look of black but avoid it. The reason is because I take my bikes over to Europe in the summer, South of France and the like. Black gets really hot when parked in the sun. Can't get my head round the idea of my petrol tank being so hot I cannot touch it, after it has soaked up hot summer sun in Europe somewhere. I think this is the only all black bike I can remember, bought second hand anyway.
Well it's opened my eyes a bit. Although I have a black bike, it probably isn't my first choice in colour scheme. I do love the bike and the colour but if I'd seen a different colour bike with the same spec and price I may well have chose that over black
As I said in the other thread ........ It’s each to their own, personal taste by its very nature must be one of if not the most diverse thing on earth. But you’ve got to think Mr Honda knows a thing or two about business and if they didn't sell they wouldn’t make them.
