Nothing worse than doing something nice and getting shafted for it. In the words of a wise man, "The ninja in Japan is a mark of speed and respect. It seems that on this forum the opposite is true."

    Do the right thing.

Ooh. I think I remember you giving something away for free so long as the postage was covered.

    I'm a going thread hunting.:)

I hope you haven't been shafted because in my short time on here I've bought and sold off/from members and never had a problem. I guess, importantly, there are two sides to every story, but whatever it was you gave away seems ages ago. Hope all works out.;)

At this point, I have given up any hope of this person doing the honorable thing and have resigned myself to the fact that some people are just self serving bastards.

On the bright side, I have their work address, full name and enough information to give them a call and ask them why they would do something like this.

I found the thread (but respectfully won't highlight it) and would say that you've been more than patient. It's more of a shame when you are one of the good regulars.:(

As soon as the excuses started, I knew it was a poor decision to send the merchandise along without postage payment. However, I figured it wasn't a big deal. I even offered to write off the postage (giving them a way to gracefully bow out of the agreement and retain their dignity), but this person insisted they would take care of it. So I accepted them on their word.

Funny thing, though, I have bought from members here, shipped to members here and even had a shirt and decals made by a member company. Never an issue, always dealt in good faith (on both sides of the transaction). This being the first let-down, I will not let it sour my outlook towards dealing with my fellow forum denizens.

Possibly not. The terrain is flat, but there are several elevated positions surrounding the OZ. Insertion would be from the east with a clear path to the EZ post-op. Oscar Mike.

That is not a new revelation; has been known for years. How could one even comprehend that ships and planes are upside down when enroute to Australia/New Zealand etc?

The only reason the earth is said to be round is so that school students can have a round globe on their desk rather than a massive flat board of the seven continents stretched across the classroom!

Sadly there will always be people who ruin things like this on forums. I've bought/sold/donated off this site without problems, but on another site I have bought stuff which has turned up broken and the seller goes silent.

Hopefully this will get resolved and the person does the right thing, but with my current lack of faith in mankind I think it would have been sorted by now if it was going to be. If not then name and shame, at least that way if someone googles that person it may show up.

    By all means, be cynical.

    Is anyone local to Derbyshire?
