    Cbr1000rr 2014.

Can I obtain vacuum for scottoiler from in nose cone fairing please, by tapping into the vac lines for the flapper in any way.
That way could avoid lifting tank maybe? any thoughts/guidance appreciated.
    Mike

Go in under the tank, its an easy hinge up. Cut in to the vac line and the barbed tee is just a push fit

Getting fairings off isn't the easiest ever! also seems one has to remove the abs wiring cover to split the overflow pipe. getting it in nose cone seemed easiest if possible.

No need to take the fairings off - remove the rider seat, then the tank cover (after removing the fixing bolts) lifts off, slacken the tank securing bolts and it hinges up. Make sure to tie it back and you can reach through the left side opening with a small pair of cutters to snip the vac line

Ok, did similar the other day to fit a booster plug to air temp sensor but obviously did not lift tank too high. haynes makes great play on loosening tank breather (drain?) tube before pivoting tank. I guess if I watch carefully as pivoting would see anything disconnect. I'll take your suggestion and try that route. But now I started looking, it seems to me the vac source for flapper if lhs of throttle body would also be a source too. Mike

I fitted the sport version to my 2015 repsol abs and it was straight forward. Make sure to thread the vac line and oil feed through drilled holes as shown rather than threading through the seat tang openings or they’ll get crushed.

Thanks for tips. Busy doing a few things while having seat redone. need slightly higher seat to go with one inch lower pegs and give knees a chance. Mike

The flapper might be but that wasn’t the route I went

No problem - I also fitted the double injector, drilling and tapping the underside of the swing arm. The other thing is I sleeved the clear in black nylon to mask it and secured it behind the heal plate after fashioning a small bracke to keep it secure

Nice job/installation. Black swingarm on mine so sleeve would be additionally beneficial. The Scottoiler off a prior bike. expecting new line and delivery tube tomorrow. enjoy your weekend. Mike

No worries I have since fitted to my 2016 black edition and with the black swingarm it’s nicely lost.

To answer my own question from my first post -- can get a vacuum feed from in nosecone on 2014. Just drop lower panel directly under headlights and tap into vac line to flappers before the one way valve. This vac line runs up lhs of engine from throttle body, and installing the scottoiler vac line here seems to work fine in the short experience I have so far. I did remove tank cover to fit the vac line from oiler in boot, but no necessity to lift tank to get to MAP vac tubes. Will update if more experience should prove anything to contrary. Mike
