Ah well, M&P Direct have let me down - they've cancelled the order due to a "stocking error".. Upon reflection, I think I've just saved myself £40, so if I remove my rear footrests, I might go for @nigelrb's suggestion of using those plastic trim clips to plug the holes..
I’d use the £40 you saved and put that towards getting your suspension set up! Best and cheapest upgrade you'll ever do
Most of my riding is commuting from Kent to central London.. I can't imagine I'm going to benefit - but I would like to get it set up (and then restored) for my upcoming Brands Hatch track day next Thurs.. That said, I don't think I'm a skillful enough of a rider to be looking at fine tuning the bike, I think my brain (and body) needs some serious tuning first!
Really? I'd thought that suspension settings are particular to each riding environment (track, country lanes, fast road, commuting, etc.). So you're suggesting there's a better suspension setup for "general all round riding"? If you say yes, you know I'm going to ask for a recommendation of a company to approach to do it (and an idea of cost). Oh and I've now removed the rear foot rests, and stuck some plastic car trim plugs in the wholes. Quite pleased with the look. Hopefully no-one's going to tell me that they were structural and I need to put bolts back in instead of plastic plugs!
