Alright folks, I'm leon and I've just purchased myself 2011 fireblade in orange and silver( matches my truck), only question I have is my blade is a RRA what's the A stand for
Hi and welcome. The 'A' represents the year of manufacture (2010) which you will note is the 10th figure in your VIN. Further example: 2011 = RRB; 2017 = RRH; 2018 = RRJ. In the 1990 year the identifiers were the latter part of the alphabet, hence early Blades being 'W', 'Y', etc. However, I have just noted your bike is advertised as a '2011'. Either it is a 2010 first registered in 2011, or, it has been advertised incorrectly. If your VIN does carry a letter A it is definitely a 2010 model, in which case the dealer has been deceptive in both its advertising and pricing. 10th letter! 'A' can only be 2010 year of manufacture and 'B' is 2011. You have a 2010. This is the problem with dealers selling old stock into the following year and claiming the bike is 'newer'. I do note in @L30njt case it is advertised ass RRA, but the unsuspecting public will recognise the 2011 as the year of the bike.
Well I've not actually got the bike yet, wont be delivered till the end of next week, but I've an app on my phone which says it was registered 08/2011. So it should be an RRB
Welcome. As said by others the last character is the year. Used to think it was hexadecimal as A was 10 but not sure now as I don't know what Honda did after 2016.
No. It should not. The alpha designation is the manufacturer's year of manufacture as stamped on the VIN, as mentioned in my previous post. The year of registration cannot take precedence over the date of manufacture, or, if you insist that yours is a 'B' simply ask Honda to re-stamp the frame. I'm sure they'll oblige. This is a prime example of where the 'age related plate' should be applied to bikes sold in the registration year post manufacturing. Most of us know that if we purchased, say, a bike manufactured in year 2000 (i.e. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-Ne...606&pg=2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982 ) it will be registered on a 'W' or 'X' plate and not on a '19' or '69'. Similarly, a vehicle manufactured in 2010 and sold in 2011 should be affixed with a '10' or '60' plate. This is merely a registration anomaly.
Well what ever it is, I'm chuffed to bits with it. 1st proper bike I've bought, always wanted an older 900rr but I couldn't resist this. Not ridden a bike in about 4yrs and nothing bigger than a 600
Nothing wrong with the 900 series, and a few of us on here have some. Vast difference to the fuel injected later models, but all great bikes!! You will be wrapt!!
