I'm sensing a touch of bitterness of late...has your missus run off with the milkman Or is it still........THE postage issue Always remember......life could be worse.. You could be living in the Midlands with only a cat cushion for company...
Aye, but then I'd have my MV F4.. On both accounts, by the way. if the missus left I would buy the MV. If I were in the Midlands with a cat cushion, I'd already have one in the house!
Talking of MVs and postage, I only recently scored an MV Battery Charger off the MV forum. Was USA based and cost US$30.00. Pretty fair price on the face of it. Of course I knew shipping would cost me. Turned out to be US$40.00 with UPS. Yep, getting foolish, I'm paying over the odds. By the way, we're talking about a guy with 7 friggin' Optimisers hooked up around the joint!! So, I'm prepared for this massive hit when I get an email from the seller saying that I might be hit for VAT. Ah well, won't be much, just another six quid or so. But the seller does me a favour and notes the sale price at US$20.00. Today, I collect from local Post Office and find that I have been levied £8.00 Royal Mail 'handling charge' PLUS £6.43 in VAT. So, my $30.00 battery charger has cost me £72.86. Stupid thing is that I won't even use it; it just becomes part of the 'MV Collection'. My only consolation is that if/when I sell it (after withdrawing it from my Will to @Spygoat - sorry ) some bastard is going to pay through the nose for this piece of 'Motorcycle' Art.'
You’ll need to sort that no use whatsoever over here US Plug for one of her majesty’s realms three pin number
Also don't just plug it into a converter if it's US Spec, as they are 110v instead of 240v, things go bang.
I remember watching a video about a grilled cheese maker imported from the states, and thought it was really bad that it just set on fire repeatedly.
Cheers guys. As stated, it's only a decorative piece. I had not even looked at the voltage and you're right: 110 - 120V. Had I have wanted to use it, I would have done the 'male thing' and banged it straight into a travel plug adaptor without reading instructions. I now know what the consequences might have been.
Yes, I am a fool. Had I have foreseen more I wouldn't have bought it. But still, I got what I wanted and I got no wife to seize it in a divorce payout so for me it's win/win!!
Kin ell, I didn't say plug the blasted thing in, did I? Actually, that would add a bit of excitement around Nigel Manor! Plug away!
He's probably got an MV fire extinguisher...so the excitement wouldn't last long ....unless it's a Chinese one given his penchant for the oriental....in which case the whole of the West Midlands could be charcoal by morning
