I think it'd be wise to take the car. Think weather, comfort, snacks along the way, maybe bringing something back, etc;)

Save your money and get an ABBA one on Shpock at the minute

    https://www.shpock.com/en-gb/i/XUK_oaaI_V39emCa/abba-motorcycle-stand

I got one in February and its spot on

I got the arms adaptor kit so I can get the front or indeed both wheels off the ground at same time

I wouldn't really trust a cheap stand to hold my bike up, what if the worst happened and the frame buckled whilst it was up on the stand..

That’s why I took the plunge and got the ABBA - I had a rear paddock stand and it was always a stressful time lifting the bike on it. The ABBA is effortless and rock solid

I'm similar and only use the Abba stand for longer term lifting. For the front however I use a triple tree head lift as I don't feel the ones that go under the forks are very safe/secure.

Yep, agree on the triple tree. I have one (Constand) that fitted the RS50. So easy and stable.

Never got around to buying pins to suit the Blades.

I find the ABBA quick and easy to use - only yesterday afternoon used it just to get the bike up so I could clean the wheels

Sorry about that @blink but having had both paddock and the ABBA I can say the ABBA is easy to use on your own and is very stable. Paddock stands are less so.
Once I got the ABBA I gave my paddocks away and haven’t regretted it for a second
