Hi all, new to this forum, I’ve been looking at my 2016 blade and I can see that the cat is built into the header pipes. Year 2014-2016 all are I believe. I’ve looked for an aftermarket manifold to fit and all I can find is an arrow manifold. I have a racefit rear pipe to fit and because I can’t find an aftermarket manifold I was going to gut the insides on the cat out to decat it. Would an ecu flash on the dyno be suitable after this or would I be looking down the lines of a power commander 5 to set it up on the rolling road be a better option? also looking at a translogic intellishifter for the bike but wanted to see other people’s opinions?
Hi Sean welcome. The cat is indeed in the headers on 14 to 16, it also has a larger diameter opening than the 08 to 13, never seen aftermarket decat headers with this size of opening (not that I’ve ever looked) but maybe they do exist. You could gut the cat out of headers or leave be either way you would benefit from an ecu flash or a Power commander. Woolich racing are the guys for ecu flash, maybe someone else could share their experience. I myself opted for a power commander and the auto tune to go with it and can say I’m more than happy with this setup. As for the Translogic is4 I personally wouldn’t bother looking at anything else, fitted one to my bike earlier this year and couldn’t imagine anything better.
Hi mate, Yeah I did read that. Gutting the cat out will be the way I need to go forward plus it will breath a little better. I’ve been speaking to 2 different tuners in Scotland. One tuner said an ecu flash on the dyno would be good and the other tuner who is closer to home and is well known said that a power commander 5 would be the way to go on a 2016 blade. He said it would never fuel correctly with it decatted / full system without a power commander 5. Yes the translogic is4 shifter is the one I’m looking at getting. It’s getting very good reviews
