I work from home most days, however 0850 and 1500 are 'School run' for me. Somedays, work permitting, I'll drop the kids off and soon as the Mrs heads out to work I get on my bike and go for a ride if the weather is good. I hate riding when it's wet and cold.

I've done the usual 25 mile round trip to pop out and grab some bread many times :)

In the rain mostly at the moment. o_O

I rode all year round for about 20 years with my bike as my only transport, but after biting the bullet and passing my car test a few years ago I now choose my days.

Now it's mostly the work commute into and our of central Birmingham, about 10 miles each way. There are occasional Saturdays and Sundays where I manage to get onto the lanes, but not very often these days.

My current blade isn't seeing much action at all and is strictly sunny Sunday's. I've got another bike for the commute with luggage.

I used to ride with a group of guys but it fizzled out for various reasons but mainly me I think. The speeds and risks were getting unnecessary and it was only a matter of time. I like to come home from a ride in one piece and I also really don't enjoy the 2 week wait to see if you've picked up a NIP.

I Don't commute on mine, 3 mile cycle ride so by the time I've got the bike out, locked the garage etc I'm already there lol. Normally ride at the weekends and Thursday bike night at the raven cafe, usually with a pal or two.

I quite enjoy a solo blast, can get out early and beat the traffic. Living 20 mins from North Wales is certainly a bonus, fantastic roads and good food!

Ride every day just a few miles to work and back but I enjoy the ride there and especially the ride back.....highlight of my day but I do drive like a complete spaz :D

I've never been a just "go for a ride" type of guy ( been riding bikes since I was 10 ) and I've never understood people who do this, I simply need to go from A to B as fast as humanly possible ...I have friends who go for rides and they often ask me to join them but what's the point when there is no purpose...not surprised you get bored I would too ;-)

Understand the OP. I ride my bikes alone, no bike mates, in fact no mates but no particular reason, just life. A couple of long trips from SW Wales (where I live) to Donington for WSBK or BSB and Silverstone for MotoGP each year on the touring bike (CBR6OOF 2013 with luggage) and most Sundays a run round local coast roads on CBR9 (now sold) and soon a recently bought ABS CBR10. Would be good to have more purpose for rides, but...c'est la vie. Mike

I think Mike is the resident 'old thread finder'. :D:D;)

(I ride on my own too, and prefer it)

I think you are right nigel....read lots and lots of threads on here since buying my cbr1000rr (2014 with abs). Prior to that had exhausted cbr929 & 954 threads, and even cbr400rr ones as had one too until about June this year. I like to learn as much as I can on every bike I own......you, and this forum are proving very informative. Thanks... Just killing time after day at Silverstone ..... First ride on CBR10, after I wash grime off cbr6, next week now my new raised seat height seat has arrived...... Mike.

The bikes my main transport. Use it every day to commute and will usually take it over to the continent for a couple of holiday trips in the year.
Don't have a car as live in the city centre, so pointless unless you want to sit in traffic constantly.
The only reason the Honda gets left behind is if its a totally sunny day and I want a bimble in the countryside, so take the Monster out.

Like a lot of you, it seems I am a lone rider, none of my mates up here ride at all.

99.9% commuter, sun or rain, hot or cold. I rarely go out to ride just for fun.

Now how about you remove it from the post where you quoted him spoiling the race?

    Thereby spoiling the race yourself.

As for the post...I ride my bikes for fun, usually with mates (or my MC) rarely as a commuter, but I usually ride daily and all year round (unless there is snow and ice).
