seen many a post on here about this stuff (am I right in thinking @nigelrb swears by it?) Where’s the best place to get it? Is it really that good? Any other recommendations? Thanks all,
Can't help you on that one I'm so lazy I get my chain done at the dealers .....they use muc off lube....all good ..
@mk3golfcab Scottoiler all the way mate! Takes a while to get the drip rate right, but I wouldn't be without one.
Get the feed right and it is fine. I've done about 4.5k on mine in the last year and not had a problem.
Can't beat Wurth dry lube...I've tried the lot...even stuff they say doesn't fling...does Apart from Wurth! Yes it's not cheap and you do have to reapply it more often if you're racking the miles up.....and if you're doing winter or a lot of wet weather commuting you'll need a more appropriate lube. But if you're mostly fine weather then this is the lube to get. It just doesn't save the wheels getting sh#te up but all the other bits it flings into that you can't get too as easily! Plus with some wheels you've got to be v careful wiping them...my orange repsol paint came off at the slightest sign of a lot of wipes.
Yep, and I've tried many! I actually purchased on @Lozzy 's recommendation. Wouldn't have a bar of Scottoiler myself. Just sayin'
Will get a can and see how it goes. I know from experience white wheels are a PITA to keep clean! Why oh why did I buy another with white wheels! Thanks all
@mk3golfcab. Until recently I was commuting around 400 miles per week, year round. Only snow stopped me. If you use their own oil or a very light transmission oil, it drips on the chain & then any excess flicks off along with the dirt/grit. Like I said, it takes a while to perfect this as the viscosity (& therefore flow rate) changes with temperature. I'll post a picture.
@Black & White that would be great thanks, in the mean time bought a couple of cans of wurth stuff; let’s see how they go, if not they will be in the for sale section haha
