So I decided that 20k on the blade means it's time to service the suspension. I've bought a later type rear shock from a forum member as it seems the easiest option for me. Stripped out the rear this evening. Easy enough. I'll spend alittle time tomorrow cleaning up the linkage and the bearings ready for a regrease before fitting the shock. Then it's the front to strip out. New head bearings and a fork service. New oil / seals and bushes. Then a trip is planned up to ktech so they can set it up for me. I'll try and add some pics of the front forks if I'm not too oily.i know we all like pics
Had one on my previous bike. Loved it for long journeys . I'm using the worth dry lube that many on here seem to like.. I'm not a fan. I like to it's on the chain.
I don't have a Scottoiler on my bike, (think of the extra weight ) but I do lube my chain using Scottoiler oil and an old toothbrush. Best of both worlds that way.
Did the same modification You can cut the 2008+ one if you don't want to buy a 2012+ one I choose to buy the 2012+ because I prefer the design, and it is more resistant to stones chips because of its design
Today went well. Forks back together and head bearings stripped out and refitted. Just need to throw it all back together now
