can anyone shed some light on this before I go googling, I seem to get confused due to the white/pearl white. Found a cowl on eBay (brand new) from vertu Honda Grantham and asked if it was the right colour etc, they asked for my reg and said it wasn’t compatible with my bike. They didn’t offer a reason as to why - I can only assume it’s pearl white but not knowing the part number I’m getting confused to which one I want. Here’s the eBay link: GENUINE HONDA SEAT COWL CBR1000RR FIREBLADE 08F70 MGP D00ZC RRP £220 REDUCED https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/223623262314 Any help greatly appreciated. Am currently undecided on normal or SP, was thinking of getting a genuine normal and Chinese SP cowl.
Chinese ebay all the way! The oem one is probably made in China also so why pay the premium just for the paint and to line Honda’s pockets
Both fair points, I guess I like the originality of Honda items. It is just paying for the name though, and I could almost get a full set of rothmans fairings for the same money...
But deep inside, you would always look at those fairings and think, "It's a lie...all a colorful lie..."
For that year/version, should be here: https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/1000-MOTO/CBR/2011/CBR1000RAB/Accessories/3/13647 Probably 08F74-MFL-8A0 The one from eBay fits the following models/versions (see list): https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/08F70-MGP-D00ZC
The Chinese one are identical....... Don't waste your money. It'll only end up full of boot scuffs anyway
You've been really lucky if you got a chinese one that is identical to OEM. Fitting is ok, but... The rubber part of the cowl is usually poorly glued/stuck in place and starts to come off. The color might fool someone at a distance, but up close the difference is glaring. However, getting a chinese one the get it painted with the OEM color might be an option.
I glued the pad in on mine myself and it was perfect, fit was also spot on! Can't comment on colour match as mine was part of a matt black fairing set I had you may recall. 200 plus quid could definitely be better spent elsewhere on the bike in my opinion.......but if you really want an OEM one
